Our 22 BS OB was also missing the panel. Our salesperson had the parts dept. order the panel and shipped it to our home all at no charge. No hassle whatsoever. Very easy to install.
Did you get the part number and if not would you send me info of your parts dept so I can call and get a number.

The panel slides into place fairly easy. This is what my parts department ordered for my Badlands.

This part # works on the Big Bend as well as it is what I ordered. Not sure where the guy posted that other number for his Outer Banks came from.

This part is not a constraint piece. I mean look at it…it’s a simple piece of black molded plastic with material bonded to it. Couldn’t be easier to source anywhere around the world.

This is pure de-contenting by the manufacturer plain and simple.

The hope is most won’t notice or care.

Yeppers! Not one person has gotten it in ‘22 and the panel I have has a born on date of April so I call BS on this being a constraint. Same category as the engine cover. Just decontenting. In this case, this adds no redeeming value and makes getting to your fuses a PITA. I’d love to see someone measure the difference in noise with it on and off and they have been leaving the bottom of the dashes open for well over 100 years without people causing damage to what is underneath. Especially now that kids throwing a kicking tantrum must be in the back seat anyways by law. The back is big enough that your teenager should take there after dark activities back there rather than folding the passenger seat back.

I look at it this way...it probably served a purpose for NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) reasons at some point. Probably lowered cabin decibels to some degree when the A/C was cranked...but when one can sell everything they make, have people lined up out the door for the product...one can make small changes to pad the bottom line...

At the end of the day...will anyone complain about the noise intrusion into the cabin on an off road vehicle? Probably very few...

All the same, I did acquire one and installed it...for me it was the principle of the matter.

Well, de-content or not, the part was on back order when my Badlands arrived (6 April 2022). The dealer ordered it for me, No Charge - warranty item, unlike the engine cover. If I want that, I get to pay for it.

My dealer says: "We checked the ones on the lot, and none of them have it." No shit! Ford got cheap and didn't want to stop production so they omitted this part (and others) awhile back. Now, they leave it off entirely. Driven mostly Fords for 45 years... Now, Ford pisses me by being cheap ass.

Some folks on this forum have argued with the Dealer and got one under warranty. For me, it wasn't worth the effort. The less I have to see my Dealer, the better! I got the missing panel online at oemfordpartscheap.com for $45... it just pops in. I also got the Engine Cover and Fuel funnel they left off the newer 2022's. At least now, I don't feel as if my BS BB suffers from Ford becoming a bunch of penny pinchers.

My 2022 came with a Fuel Funnel. But no Engine cover, and passenger side panel, all on seperate order at the moment.

The Fuel funnel was in the same bag as my carpet mats when the car was delivered. I have a feeling missing Fuel funnel looks to be dealerships taking them out of the bag before delivery when placing the mats in the cars.

Because I had the rubber mats installed from the factory my dealership had not even touched the bag where the funnel was hiding. So I have a set of rubber mats and carpeted mats which are still in their oem bags minus a hole where I took the funnel out of.

So what's the part number for the interior dash panel?

Got my side panel in today. 40+ bucks for that panel. On top of that, they were going to charge me for it. I asked my dealer to have them look into the warranty on it, and confirm that it isn't covered. Any one else get their passenger side panel under warranty lately? Seems like another thing that is being pushed outside of the warranty on my end.

I’m pretty sure this was never covered by Ford under warranty. The dealer may have picked it up for some but I doubt Ford covered them. This was not a bad part. They stopped shipping them as part of the product. No one got one delivered since early 22.
