As all ready mentioned Ford will match the tire price and I like their 3 year tire warranty which is about $120 for 4 tires which includes replacement without being prorated or repair if tire can be plugged. Ford warranty seems similar to tire discount certificate. So I guess it comes down to which shop you are more comfortable with.

The other benefit of using Ford is it will give you extra Ford points if you use those.

Use Tirerack to price match at your local Discount Tire. Most tire shops now will offer rotations and inflations as part of the purchase, but unless you want it to be a hassle to follow up, go to Discount Tire. They'll actually get you in and out and back on the road. Ford and Costco will have you make an appointment and then drop off the car and check back in hours later.
I did the same thing. Tire Rack has EXCELLENT customer service. Had an issue last year with a rebate where the instructions from the tire manufacturer were not clear. Tire Rack sent me a survey. I mentioned it, and noted that it wasn't really their fault, but I was still disappointed that I lost the rebate due to the unclear instructions. They called me and gave me the rebate amount in the form of a refund to my credit card even though it was not their fault!!!! I was floored!

As others have mentioned, Discount Tire and Tire Rack are essentially the same company now, but their prices are sometimes different. Discount will match any Tire Rack price. Discount Tire has better road hazard certificates, and I know you can buy tires from Tire Rack and then have them installed at Discount Tire and I believe Discount Tire will allow you to upgrade to their road hazard protection certificates for the normal fee.

But, you can also just ask Discount Tire to match the Tire Rack price and do it all through Discount Tire. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.

My main choices are Ford and Discount Tire. Are there any benefits to buying from Ford?

I'm probably going to Toyo Open Country or MAYBE Yokohama Geolanders in 235/65/17. So more than likely, Firestone's out of the question but I wanted to add that as a possibility.

I live in a small town with a Firestone and Ford dealership. I don't care for Firestone's service department due to past experiences. I had been buying my tires from Discount Tire but the closest one is about 40 minutes away. I do work in a city with several DTs.
I used Discount Tire for my last purchase (about 3 years ago) and have been impressed with their service and convenience. Installation, included rotations, and one "walk in" puncture repair during that time -- all went very smoothly.

Another nice feature for me is their veteran discount via ID.me. Currently 5%, but I think it may vary with promotions? I've not seen Ford veteran tire discounts, but I only recently purchased my first Ford. I did get a vet discount on the OTD price.

Was checking the price on Falken Wildpeaks at Tire Rack and a Microsoft drop down came up and showed me the same tires were on Amazon for $60 less! I checked the America's Tire website for price matching and it said to give them proof of the Amazon price, which I got from the website. Sure enough, they matched the price and saved me over $200.

Costco. Free balance and rotation every 10,000 kms.

I tried Costco a couple times. They got very picky when THEY felt the vehicle needed new tires. The front tires were slightly more worn on the inside edges (had an alignment, but a little too late) but still not below the wear bars. They refused to rotate the tires and they wouldn't repair leaks.

If you make an appointment and get there on time, it's not uncommon you still have to wait quite a while before they even pull your car in. Kind of made me question the benefit of making an appointment.

In my final experience there, they refused to rebalance the tires because the inner edge of the tread was worn. They turned me away from my "appointment."

I had to call the store manager and explain my understanding of the safety concerns their lawyers have about not wanting them to put "worn" tires on the rear of a car (oversteer) and the liability they may incur by repairing a leak in a tire with low tread, but asked how rebalancing a tire and putting it back on the same corner it came in on makes the vehicle any less safe. After thinking about it and not having a good answer, he agreed to perform the rebalance if I brought it back. I did, but I moved on after that.

The good news is you can eat, drink, and shop while you wait. I suspect that's part of the business model and I will say it works! They also have pretty good prices if they have the brand/model you want, and they have a free nitrogen refill station in their parking lot if that's of any value to you.

Costco is a difficult place to buy tires and very difficult place to get rotations done.

For the price and convenience, Discount Tire/America’s Tire is the place to go.
