My wife and I love Chihuahuas.

My wife is, unfortunately back in the hospital battling pneumonia, and blood clots in her lungs. She'll be fine, but it's the third hospital stay in the last 4 weeks.

Having Lily at home makes it a lot better. My wife is the only family I have in Texas. I know that not everyone likes the Chi, but Lily really is a life saver when I need a boost.

She looks like the first dog in our family that I remember, a Chihuahua mix named Pulga (flea). Oddly enough, I haven’t had a dog since I moved out of the house in ā€˜72.

Then again, my life since then hasn’t been very conducive to having one. Cats fit our lifestyle better, but the last one went to kitty heaven (as the wife calls it) over 15 years ago.

As much as I want another furry beast, at this point it’s highly unlikely.

What would we do without our pets during uncertain times ?

We have a 3 year old cocker spaniel named Maya who is basically head of our household. We humans function as part of her "staff " but she gives us all a boost when we need it !

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your wife .

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your wife, and hope for a swift recovery.
Almost any furry critter is God’s gift to us. We’ve always been dog folks, but now have a cat (who still doesn’t like me a lot <lol>) that was/is feral and my wife took in about 3 months ago — she’s now completely a house cat (she’s taken over the house).

Hope your wife recovers soon. Doesn’t sound fun. We usually have 2 dogs, but our Husky recently passed. But we still have Poco, our 2.5 year old Australian Shepherd.
