Between this and the climate control dials no longer displaying the temperature, I might have to cancel my order ;)
Don't forget the rear seat headrests that don't fold down anymore.

Yes, chaos. Look how many 1.5L owners are bi**hing about their BS not having an engine cover and the 2.0L folks gloating how they have theirs.
Don't forget the rear seat headrests that don't fold down anymore.
And don't forget to demand they switch out the climate control for ones with the digital display in them or you'll be upset.

You are getting less options, no engine cover, hood dampener, temp knob displays, no rear trunk release button on the dash, some trims they removed rubberized seat back covers as standard (you must buy them as an option now) and to add insult they increase the msrp base prices across all trims. I might have missed other things but I can understand some peoples frustration discovering these things after they purchased a bronco sport. It's still a great vehicle in my opinion.

I’m just planning to drive mine with the hood down. I don’t think anyone will know the difference. Just one less thing to remove when fixing the vehicle. Seems like they are doing me a favor. Is there something special that this does that I am missing?

It gives you the peace of mind that your BS is everything that it can be. It will help you sleep better at night. It will help you see Ford and your Ford dealer in a better light. Your friends and neighbors will hold you in higher esteem than the lowly non-engine cover peasants. It just makes your life better overall.

To some, it's just an engine cover. To others, it's a way of life.

Obviously YES !
The engine cover debacle was a Bot inspired idea when Ford asked SKYNET for the best and cheapest way to get more interest online. If you know what’s the motivation the answer is in your face.

The way things are starting to shape up consider yourself lucky if you even get a new '22....because the sitting in rot lots in mass forever appears to be now unraveling...

Honestly, they cut so much out of the '22, I would have a hard time showing someone my '21 and then recommending the purchase. I would tell them to find a '21. They're not all important things but they are stacking up lots of little cuts to everything except the price!

I don't mind waiting, but I'm not happy with all the subtractions. It's the cumulative effect of lots of small cuts that leads to the "****y American rental car circa 2004" feeling in a vehicle.

If it comes with without an engine cover, I’m fine with that. Just let’s get the car shipped and after that I’ll be happy to notice all the little things that aren’t quite as they should be.
