Adding illuminated cup holder to Badlands

A couple months ago, I bought an illuminated cup holder for an Escape, along with the pigtail. I wasn’t sure which wires to tap for power, and ultimately decided to go another direction, awapping a console harness from an Outer Banks.

at first, I thought all was good - it seemed to have every necessary connection. It doesn’t.

the rear USB connection at the back of the console is not included in the outer banks harness. Everything else is, along with one extra connector for something….wireless charger maybe?

anyway, either my illuminated cup holder is defective, or the bulkhead connector on the vehicle side lacks those pins, because I lack ambient lighting.

also, it throws a bunch of codes when you unplug all this stuff.

I like to make my own vehicle modifications, but the hardware and software on these cars is so tightly integrated you really need some expertise in both wrenching and coding.

need to tap accessory power if the related harness isn't present. not sure what happened with my factory led chips, I blew mine immediately when bench testing to try to figure out which leads to use for power since there's 3 wires on the cupholder. modified to use some different Leds i had.

add a fuse on passenger footwell fuse box. power on with accessory. forget which fuse number. but its the one everyone uses.

i just read through your original post didn't realize you didn't get it working. since you do have the harness its probably something in forscan you enable. pretty sure ive seen ambient lighting in the BCM settings
