Correct. They are air or wind deflectors, not mud flaps.
Unless you drive backwards in mud!

I removed the fronts, as they could create a blockage against parking lot concreate stops. I have not seen any loss of fuel mileage in doing so.

The front air deflectors? They are part of the build. Rear mud flaps were added as an option .

My 22 doesn’t have them. Maybe we need a thread to complain about decontenting the front tire air deflectors! 😎
The front have never been included on Badlands. Reasoning is that they would be ripped off during off-roading. I had front and back in my previous Escape.
