My 2021 Bronco Sport has been having battery issues at 29,000 miles. I recently got it changed under warranty. But after the fact, i started noticing the light inside the car were starting to flicker. Wasnt too noticeable but started getting more repetitive. Yesterday, i was driving on the freeway going about maybe 40 mph when all of a sudden my dashboard where rhe speedometer is and also the infotainment system go completely black. But the engine was still running. I was able to get to work and also home but the car keeps having the same issue. I will be taking it to the dealership for further inspection. Has anyone experienced like this?

This is a post I made a while back having the same issue that seemingly got worse in cold weather and also when the car sat for extended periods of time. I just recently (in the last couple days) had the battery replaced with a Motorcraft AGM Battery, and so far so good with no electrical issues.

Previously my Auto start/stop hadn't worked in over 8 months, not even once, now it works every time I come to a stop (I have to remember to turn it off now haha). I'm using that as a sign that everything is fixed or at least better.

Most everyone I talked to about it said it was a battery issue, so I'd start there.

The video in your old post is exactly whats happening to my Bronco Sport. One other thing thats happening on mine is the auto stop button doesnt work and the feature doesnt work on the vehicle either.

Mine was doing that exactly, new AGM Battery seems to have fixed everything. New battery also came with a 3yr/36k mile warranty on just the battery. I would check with the dealer that installed it and have them test it.

My wife's Ecosport has a blackout problem also. Hers is just the sync screen and I just do a quick re-set and it works again for a while. Two different dealers can't figure it out, so I'll live with it.

Dealer replaced my battery under warranty. Original was a FOMoCo lead acid battery.
The replacement Motorcraft AGM battery fixed my electrcal issues including auto start stop.

In all likelihood, your battery monitor system has not been reset after the new battery install. The system assumes the old battery is still there. Look up reset BMS in the manual. All new vehicles should have a battery maintainer (charger) plugged in whenever the vehicle is parked.

Everyone stop. Take a breath. Do you really want to go down this rabbit hole? Does this perfectly toned and helpful thread about a display problem need to be hijacked into a battery tender conversation? Start a new thread or revive an old one!

If you spend some time researching the site you'll find many posts about electrical anomalies solved by a new battery, or if you drive infrequently by keeping your battery charged between uses.

So sad to think a Sport would be driven infrequently. ?

There is a technical bulletin for this. SW update.
I had mine done and good so far.
How did you do the SW update

Took it to the dealer and this is exactly what had to be done. They reset it , BUT i am still having issues with the infotainment system. Itll shut down randomly while driving and will read a message “System off to Save Battery … please turn off ignition or turn on engine”. The auto stop/on button also flickers and turns off and on. The feature doesnt even work anymore. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the dealer has not reset the BMS properly. It is easy to do. It is in the manual.

It involves having the ignition on but not started.
Within 10 seconds,
Flash the high beams 5 times.
Press and release brake pedal 3 times.
Wait a few seconds and battery warning light flashes 3 times.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.
