Today the 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend got:
Matte Black Overlay Letters Front & Rear
Rear Smoked Chrome Ford Oval
Rival Hood GasStruts
I was going over the list of minor mods and accessories I've bought for the BS. It's easy to spend spend spend. That Chrome Oval, for example, is...
The items I added are functional and for a look I wanted. A gas cap serves no function. More of an inconvenience if anything but 'whatever floats your boat'.
I don't have the paperwork from my dealer, but I do have dealer.parts.ford.com tuned in to 2023 Bronco Sport and the liftgate parts are listed on backorder there too:
My guess is that OEMPartsonline Lakeland ford etc. are assuming the parts are available for order and then would follow up with...
Have not encountered the failure but were you provided paperwork showing the part number for the tailgate right and left side gasstruts?
I’ve been told national back order, no parts available and Google search turns up the Ford parts, call to confirm and parts were available for delivery.
Hello all,
Have an in-warranty failure after less than a year of ownership that is a bit odd. The gasstruts that support the liftgate while open have failed completely on my 23 BS BL. The hatch now actively falls as fast as gravity permits if not actively held up by hand. I took it to my...
From the owner's manual (2021 Owner's Manual, Liftgate, page 70, or 2024 Owners Manual, Liftgate, p.71):
Note: Do not hang anything, for example
a bike rack, from the glass or liftgate. This
could damage the liftgate and its
components.
Don't expect warranty coverage of your hatch or lift...
I have Redline props on my Ranger. For the Bronco Sport I went with this from Amazon:
"RERPRO Hood Struts Lift Support Kit for Ford Bronco Sport 2021 2022 2023 Accessories Front Quick Hood Lift Supports Shocks Gas Springs Prop Rod Replacements, 2 Pack Black"

...I had to secure a couple things with zipties because of the cross brace and secure the functionally useless proprod because I installed gasstruts a while ago, I probably should just remove it entirely, but I'm leaving it there incase its broken down somewhere and I need to hit things with a...
Small things I've done (not all today):
Got a VIN etching kit and etched all the glass. VIN Etching from the dealer is a scam because it's grossly overpriced, and some places may offer it for free in your community (local police departments, AAA, etc.) either continuously or in pop-up events)...
Much appreciated on the detail! Looks like the Molle panel is back on the menu! I think I might go with the recommended struts so I can keep the force equal on both sides.
I've been steadily trying to slowly prep my BS for small 3 or 4 day camping trips. Space is at a premium. This helps a lot.
What fortuitous timing for you to ask. I just got the fittings in that I was waiting for to finish the project.
I had also reached out to JCR and got the same response. Reading it again, I now know what they meant by the angled adapter. They mean these. You will need an angled fitting on the...
Update: These CRV struts are much weaker than the OEM Bronco Sport struts. Going to have to go more custom.
Update 2: Just took the OEM strut and checked it on a scale. It takes about 170 lbs-F to compress. Off to McMaster-Carr I go.
Update 3: McMaster-Carr option is sold out, so I'm trying...
...love it. But I quickly realized that adding even just a few items to the panel causes significant sag in the rear hatch. The OEM liftgate gasstruts are simply not strong enough to handle any extra weight on the hatch. Has anyone encountered this problem on their Bronco Sport or other...

...not pushing down on the hood when closing to latch it. Let it drop from a foot or so and it will latch on its own. If you have installed gasstruts then push very carefully on the bend in the metal where it curves down in the front. The bend will be more rigid than the flat part, making it...
Actually you pretty much nailed it. But at this price point I agree. I am lucky with South Bay Ford, they are pretty good to deal with. I also came out of German cars (Porsche and BMW).
