I went with 245/65/17 pirelli scorpion all terrain plus. The ko2s were too heavy for my liking and too noisy on the road. I used to have them on my 4runner years ago and they were terrible in the winter weather we get here in bc. The pirellis have been fantastic so far, great traction off...
Ford has different alignment specs depending on the tire size. My alignment shop didn't have the specs, i had to get it for them! But you might want to check that the alignment matches that difference
Finished installing the lift kit and had an alignment done. Ford didn't want to provide the alignment specs saying it was proprietary info and i should have the bs towed to the dealership.... i found the specs i needed a different way but it caused some delays.
Ford is really dropping the ball...
Very good bit of kit and well made. On mine though, the plastic oil pan drain plug does not line up with the cutout as is different then the metal one.
Everything else was great with very minimal fitting issues
Installed all my skid plates and the rear suspension lift (didn't have time for the fronts today, will finish tomorrow). Makes me feel a lot better about going offroading now!! Unfortunately the new plastic oil pans don't have the oil drain off at the same place it seems.
installed half of my jcr skid plates. Can confirm that the pinch welds along the rockers are an absolute b*tch to drill thru!!!
Plates are really well made! Very happy with them! Next will be the HRG lift kit and then finding some heavier rear springs to handle the extra went of the skid plates...
Yeah flatout option is out of my price range and they have an over 10 weeks lead time hence why i bought the hrg lift kit.
The leveling springs options are longer but not stiffer.... i want to lift the car but also have the suspension be stiffer so I'm maintaining my negative to positive...
I have quite a bit of weight in my bs obx from my rtt, skid plates and other things and the rear of the car is actually lower then the front.
I just purchased a hrg lift kit but i feel like the rear will still be drooping lower then the front when i install it. I'm wondering if anyone knows...
I've got a few sketches drawn up and hopefully i can start working on something by the weekend and post some pictures.
I'll be buying all 1 inch pieces. 1 inch square tube, 1 inch dom round tube, 1 inch flat bar. I should be able to keep everything within 1/2 inch lower than the pinch weld.
Maxwellian, that's an awesome picture! Thanks for that. It definitely helps with my idea.
belly pan brackets for the outer edges to help minimize torque être in my design idea.
I'm just not super stoked on the current options. I don't want a foot step and i want my sliders to be low...
Plan is to have two hard mounted tabs at either end from the backside. My slider would have 100% contact with the outside of the pinch weld and threaded bolt tabs behind at 6 different places. I'm not too worried about it falling off but my thought was to use the strength of the pinch weld to...
Just wondering if anyone has any info as to how strong the main body pinch weld under the BS is? The one running the length of the car below the doors.
I'm looking at fabrication my own set of sliders but i don't want to drill into the car. I'm looking at making a set that would essentially...
