"I went to wash my car, then get had to get gas for the lawn mower. When I tried to restart my Bronco Sport outer banks every light came on advanced trac, no hill side assistance, car over heating, low tire pressure ,no driver assistance, no coolant , low battery, blind system fault, low fuel. I...
Thanks for the detailed reports. My driving pattern is roughly similar (60/40 highway/city), which means my fuel expenses should increase by ~9% based on your data and mine from when I drove a 21 Big Bend. (28.6 combined MPG over 10,000 miles.)
Couldn't find the answer but then again the thread is 400+ pages...
Anyone know why ordertrack.app shows 'in transit' but Ford's tracker does not? Just curious as to where the former could get that status.
That's an interesting perspective as I didn't know the extent of the OB's unique features. When I shopped, it was between the BB and Badlands: OB seemed 'unnecessary' in the lineup, as in why not just swing for the fences with the Badlands? BB had the best bang-for-your-buck with the same 1.5 as...
In that case, get the Badlands with tow package. You'll want the extra power. Also budget for a small loss in fuel economy with the 2.0 vs 1.5 engine.
FWIW, I also traded up from a 21 1.5 Big Bend to a 22 Badlands (still waiting).
Seems like you'd need the Ford Perimeter Plus Vehicle Security System™ for this:
"When there’s impact to the glass or a body panel, the 2-stage shock sensor determines whether to issue a warning chirp or full alarm."
Before you sign anything, have your dealer run a 'smart Vincent' report showing incentives available at the time of order. You can pick between incentives available at time of order or delivery/sale, but not both.
When I drove a Big Bend daily...
(1) Almost always get a one-finger wave from other Bronco Sport drivers.
(2) Drove by a country club and someone pointed at me with their golf club and their whole group looked my way.
(3) My barber said I should take it to a car show (neighborhood and business...
Hate to read this; I liked the cloth seats in my Big Bend and sort of regret ordering the Premium Package on the Badlands because of the unknown "comfort factor."
@fsix do you think it's the material & cushioning (or lack thereof), or not being able to adjust to a good position?
Would love to see warranty data 3+ years from now to see if that ends up being the case. I thought about that when I sold my MY21 Big Bend (built Feb 2021): that I'd walk into MY22 problems because all the subs cut corners, rushed production, substituted materials, etc. to try and meet demand...
I've always liked the classic Land Cruiser / Land Rover aesthetic; one of my uncles owned an FJ 40 when I was a kid and I still think it's the gold standard for a small off-road vehicle.
So when it was time to buy a new car, I shopped the RAV4, various Subarus, even contemplated a used FJ...
Yes, I learned that the hard way too. I signed up for some nonsense (get $x if your vehicle is stolen) because the finance manager lied about what I signed; fortunately I was able to get a full refund within 90 days. The "anti-theft" stuff they push at signing are total rip-offs, but pretty...
Not to get too off-topic, but this article is informative. "If you are the owner of an oil refinery, then crude is trading happily just a little above $110 a barrel — expensive, but not extortionate. If you aren’t an oil baron [purchasing refined products], I have bad news: it's as if oil is...
Bumping this thread to see 2022 rates.
Now that my VIN is generated, I got a quote from GEICO for a 22 Badlands: $57/mo. This is only $17/mo more than my 20-year-old Toyota lol. My overall premium is ~7% cheaper than 2021, probably because I moved into a house from a rental.
Nice thing about the Sport is you can juice the fuel economy if you want to be a slowpoke. The brick shape seems to increase the MPG variability compared to shall we say more aerodynamic vehicles.
Build week is coming up and sure enough my window sticker was generated yesterday or today. All options included as expected, so far so good. Glad I have price protection from last December!
