We had almost no snow this winter, and even less ice. It can't be called a stone chip because the whole panel from the right corner almost to the mirror is showing signs of rust. And most of the panels that have either missing paint or haven't been prepped/primered don't get exposed to road salt.
So it would appear that we have a Friday afternoon car. There's panels that aren't primed, like the hatch where the hinges attach, the fenders have paint starting to peel at the leading edges up by the windshield. LF headlight and fender alignment is so bad that the headlight has rubbed through...
Has anyone had any issues with rust on their roof panel above the windshield? This started out as a bubble, and is now rusty. 2023 OBX, 10,500km bought in March '23
I threw a breaker bar and 19mm deep socket in the back of our OBX. I'd brake that dinky little thing they call a wrench in about 3 seconds. Not that I plan to use the jack or the spare, but just in case.
The sound is ok. What I don't love is the vibration on startup, which goes away after it builds some oil pressure. Power is decent, no worse than my 2.5l SkyActiv CX-5. And any "flying brick" that can average 30+mpg @75mph on our hilly Nova Scotia highways is a winner in my books.
And in case you're wondering, I was a technician at my local Ford dealer for a few years in the early 2000's before jumping over to the local GM superstore (same owner) to handle the Goodwrench department. I didn't specialize in one manufacturers product, I worked on them all and have gobs of...
As per the owners manual of my 2023 BS OBX, transmission fluid is recommended to be changed at 150,000 miles and the coolant's good for 200,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first. You're wasting money, and throwing away fluids that are not even close to 25% of their service life at 30,000...
I worked at a local Ford dealer here in Nova Scotia in the early 2000's, and we had to install amended "emissions stickers" all the time. Sometimes we even had to do "door stickers" too. I actually ran into a 4.6l equipped F150 that had the incorrect engine info assigned to the VIN, and it had a...
Lucky that they were able to drive out, but the car is guaranteed to be a total loss. Anytime airbags are involved, it's too expensive and risky for an insurance company to fix.
I think this is the way that I'm gonna go when my wife's OBX needs some new shoes. Can't justify pulling the stock Michelins at the moment, because we mainly do highway and around town in the summer, but come fall the BS might get these as an upgrade.
I just don't like the tone of the answer. And yes, I've been inside the computers or modules of many vehicles, both with a scanner and physically. So I'm somewhat familiar with the CANBUS and multiplex systems that most vehicles are equipped with, and I am also VERY familiar with having to deny...
Thanks for talking down to me there. Because of the autocorrect on my handheld device, FORScan comes out as FordScan. I'm glad you fancy yourself an expert on diagnostics. It was a simple question, and I desired a simple answer.
So I'm thinking of getting FordScan for my "fleet" of Ford vehicles. We've got 2, my dad has a truck and my sister just bought an Explorer ST. What's the best cable to mate up with the app?
