Yeah - I think it’s always been acknowledged that one could get 31” tires to work. The thought was that it would come at the cost of the structural integrity of the vehicle. In my experience, that’s not the case.
Full suspension travel was checked. With this set up, the tire works with no rubbing. And my comment about giving up wheel travel was based on me out looking it over with a tape measure. I don’t actually think I did.
Articulation at all 4 corners, locked steering right and left, visual inspection in the air and on the ground, and test driving.
As I mentioned a moment ago in another post, I think I've given up some total wheel travel, but still have more than enough for how this will be used.
I have but I haven't maxed anything out yet. I might have given up some wheel travel, but not sure. Plenty of space front and back, but I've got just over 5 inches at the lowest point between the bottom of the outer fender and the top outer part of the wheel that would hit it. Still plenty of...
This computer graphics rendition was my inspiration for proportions that I was going for. I think this set up got as close to it as I want to go. And I'm pretty confident that larger tires would not be worth the effort, and may actually require the cutting into metal that some feared this size...
My little project did not go as plug-and-play as I'd hoped, but it was pretty darn close.
I had good reason to believe that with the right lift, and with the right off-set wheels, that we could, indeed, fit 255/70/17 wheels onto the Bronco Sport (Badlands), despite the conventional wisdom here...
There have been a barrage of recalls, quality issues, and various oddities. It's not surprising to me. One of mine developed some annoying in-cabin rattles earlier than any new car I've ever purchased. Not a deal breaker to me, but annoying. I can imagine others having quality issues worse...
Looks so good. One of my favorite color combos for a car is that grey with black accents. Go dark on the windows (20%) tint and it'll look out of this world!
It is a fun car, for sure. And I feel the same way about moon roofs. I’ve had many of them. Hardly ever used any. I found that I only like to use a moon roof on a very cloudy- but preferably rainy - day. If the sun is out, it stays closed. Some people love them. Glad they exist for those...
No real feedback for you....I'd seen that, as well. Could be interesting, but I've got heads Up Display in another vehicle, and have had it in other vehicles through the years, and realized that a) I never pay attention to it and b ) If you typically wear polarized sunglasses, the heads-up...
I actually found a shop that specializes in wheel repair/refurbashing/powder coating. I've used them for years on different vehicles. I actually became familiar with them because my local BMW dealership uses them to do wheel work on most trade-ins. That might be your best course of...
