I converted to a 7 pin for my small travel trailer. I ran a fused 10ga wire underneath directly from the battery for the charge wire. Simple and straight forward.
I did install a 3/4" leveling kit on the front along with replacing the original 225 65 17 Pirelli's with 235 65 17 BF Goodrich Trail Terrain tires. The only other mod I did was replace the felt pad covering the EVAP lines with a self made skid plate. The hardest trail in the park is Black Gap...
New Years Eve we drove the trail up Christmas Mountain at Terlingra Ranch In Texas. Most of the drive is a rocky, rutted shelf road. I had no problems. As I always say, take it slow and pick your line wisely. You must reserve either the morning 8-12 or afternoon 12-4 . You are given a key to the...
Today was day one on the Big Bend Bronco drive! I was the only Sport . It was a long 10 hour day. We did Glen Springs Road, Black Gap Road (hardest trail in the park) and West River Road. I did every obstacles the big boys did ,just a bit slower. Another shorter drive tomorrow.
I will see. The bolts at the front and back are the main support. I may add a few more bolts if needed. Will be testing it in a couple of days at Big Bend National Park in a couple of days
First time off road I ripped the felt pad off my Badlands. Ford did a good job with underbody protection, EXCEPT This! The after market ones sat lower than I like and required modifications to work on the Badlands, so I decided to make my own.
So far so good. I have traveled about 7,000 miles since I put it in, about 1/2 of that towing. Tires are wearing evenly, and cv joints are still fine ( knock on wood).
I tried it. Using the key fob wont work as I thought, but you can lock and unlock with the fob inside the car using the Ford Pass App. Also with the key fob inside you can remote start with the App.
Just turn it off when you hop out ,back on when you hop back in. Or leave the fob in the car. The honk is a safety feature. It's meant to alert you that you left the car running. This is a problem if you park in an attached garage. There have been cases where people forget to shut their car off...
The ONLY way to lock the car with the key inside is by pressing the bottom two buttons on the keypad at the the same time, and it doesn't honk. If you lock your car when you get out and shut the door, it automatically unlocks and beeps.
I too, also had the 225 Scorpions. Early on I swapped them for 235 65 17 BF Goodrich Trail Terrains. They , pretty quiet on road, great traction off road and in the snow, plus look much better.
