It’s important to remember that even though these are marketed as off-roader SUVs, they are not. They are re-branded, re-badged Ford Escapes. They are cars. They are Broncos only in name. The most they are equipped to deal with are dirt roads and slight inclines. It’s important to know the car’s...
A few of us are in the same boat. Parts won’t be available til May/June.
Currently in the process of deciding whether or not I’m ditching mine and getting a 4Runner instead
Zero chance. ETA is meaningless until status is moved to Shipped or at least Built and I’m not sure why they show it prior to that. You can expect the ETA to be moved a month out soon.
Mine stayed at In Production for 6 months and the delivery date changed countless times.
They have some but they’re priced about $5K more than what I’m paying for mine and at that price I’d rather get something else which at this point I’m leaning towards
I’m a broken record around here but a recap:
11/23 I put a $500 deposit on mine under the impression that the car would arrive on 11/28 (this is what I was told by the salesman) which is why I agreed to buy it. I had sold my car the day prior.
11/29 I speak with the salesman, he says he...
All of this could have been avoided if they’d actually done orders on a first come, first serve basis and gotten the June lot rots out in a timely manner once their chips came in.
What a joke Ford is.
The recall was effective 11/23. Just because there is no remedy does not mean there is no recall.
Others here have reported not being able to take delivery because of this recall, similar to buyers in November who couldn’t take delivery because of the FDM recall.
Your sales guy said the same thing right? Gives me a little bit of hope but man I’m worried. Guess it makes sense that they’re able to sell them if they lifted the stop ship at the plant and started getting the lot rots on the train. They didn’t do that for the FDM.
Mine isn’t. The recall is showing for mine in the ETIS, Ford Pass App and NHTSA. If they tell me I can’t take it, it’s time to move on to a more reputable brand.
My 2021 just shipped this week. So yeah, now I have to wait another 4-5 months.
I am likely going to cut my losses and get a better car. Just waiting for it to show up to the dealership and for them to confirm I can’t take it until the recall is complete.
You may be right. If I remember correctly even some of the 2021s built in the same time frame as ours avoided the recall because there was an alternative brake booster available in the options that wasn’t vacuum powered. Maybe they put that in ours.
Yours will show up to the dealership...
