No... It's a 20W radio. Rule of thumb: 1A for every 5W of TX power. So. I wired to #24 (always on) which is a 20A spare, but I fused down to 10A. The connections to Fuse #3 (ignition on) is for future use if I do a dashcam or something.
I think a 50W radio on Fuse #24 would be OK if I fuse back...
I wired my GMRS today... I planned ahead so I only need to setup my fuse taps once. I Made a small wiring harness to tap into Fuse #3 and Fuse #24 with spade and SAE connectors. If I need to connect anything in the future, it'll be ez-pz :)
More details and installed pic is here...
I took the afternoon off to install my BTECH GMRS-20V2 today. I chose to wire it to the inside fuse box on the passenger side. I don't like working upside down in that small area, so I made it easy on myself and made a small wiring harness. It is wired to Spare Fuse #3 (ignition on) and #24...
Thanks for posting... But, they don't appeal to me; Too flahsy  ... I actually really like the OEM design of the taillights on the BS; I replaced the bulbs with LEDs and I'm a happy camper.
Does anyone have experience with any of the Bunker Industries recovery products? They sell traction boards, shackles, recovery straps/kits and all kinds of related stuff on Amazon. I am considering their roll-up Tire Traction Mats for winter snow...
I've only used it on motorcycle tires so far... Took them from 0 to 30 much quicker than my old B&D compressor/starter combo. I did top off my tires... for that it works super! Preset to 33 and it stops by itself. In the winter here, the temp drops quickly and topping off the tires on a cold...
I took a nut that was about the same thickness as a mounted Pin Switch when compressed, and taped it to the inside lip of the glovebox... The Glovebox closed, but took a little more force for it to latch. Moving the nut around to different spots seemed to make a difference, although slight. I'll...
I believe everyone's going to have different risks for every different emergency scenario (weather, civil disorder, WWIII, zombie outbreak, etc.); Location is one major factor in determining those risks. Situational Awareness is key. Knowing when to bug out (so you're not stuck in a traffic...
OK, here's my plan... Didn't need all the travel on the Pin Switch, so I used a jewelers screwdriver to open up the lug and reposition it (on the left); A stock one is on the right; I'll snip the excess off when I put it in, may have to adjust. Can't wait to install it, but it may have to...

Seriously... I have an RTL-SDR (RTL2832U) I run with a Raspberry PI. Haven't given it much thought before seeing your post... I can run the whole thing off USB power. Maybe I'll add it to my Comms Bag with the HTs and other radio stuff... Thanks!
Unfortunately, where I'm at it's a 4 hour drive to anything that could even be jokingly called, or described as a "forest". Just to get to what we call "the sticks" is a 1 to 2 hour excursion. So, When the balloon goes up, My family is forced to take a road trip. ?
I did a search on "prepper", "survivalist" and "tactical", so as not to offend the Thread Police. What was returned was a sparse hodgepodge of posts that I found interesting. Some posts were by the same members on different topics, But there was no thread for sharing of ideas and topics that...
When I did a search for this part by my VIN in my local dealers parts site... It returned the 315 Mhz version.
