I think that feature was weirdly only available on one trim and it was either Outer Banks or Big Bend (I can't remember which one; I want to say Outer Banks). I could be thinking of something else though.
I have an Edge ST and the 2.0 in the BS pulls almost as hard off the line. I think they're ~5.5 and 5.9 seconds 0-60, respectively.
The only thing I would note is the understeer seems a lot more noticeable in the BS than the Edge ST when you really hammer the accelerator. If a potential...
It's not just Ford or the Bronco Sport...
Copy/paste this into Google: "aluminum hood flexing high speed"
Now, look at how many vehicles come up with forum posts about this. I see Dodge Ram, Honda Pilot, Honda Accord and Toyota of some sort just in the first 5 results.
Yeah, I get what you're saying. I'd like to get an answer from someone at Ford about this since they seem to be using aluminum in a lot of their vehicle hoods, but I'm not really sure where to ask. You would think they had to have tested something like that.
I'm guessing that the flexing you're seeing at high speeds or driving into a headwind is likely just due to the aluminum hood.
Those videos don't look dissimilar to what I've experienced while driving mine above 70mph and I have a FE with no hood add-ons. I seem to remember seeing the hood...
My wife works in purchasing for a large food company and its a similar story there. It doesn't matter what it is...raw materials, machine parts, packaging materials. Everything is either behind schedule by months or flat out unavailable.
I drove from Chicago to Detroit and back this weekend and managed to catch a bit of a headwind both days. The hood definitely flexes at higher speeds, particularly over 70mph, but I think the headwind made this much worse.
I can't remember 100%, but I seem to remember seeing this on my Edge as...
Very nice.
I was also interested in the "big" Bronco, but I have major reservations about removable roof panels. I'd want to actually see how they work in person and and test drive the car to hear the wind noise levels. The long wait didn't help and I ultimately felt like I wouldn't...
Thanks for posting these photos. They did a really poor job illustrating what this product is on the Ford Accessories page. Because I could actually see the functionality of this setup from your photos I just ordered the similar, but slightly cheaper option from levittownfordparts.com.
It's...
I think his criticism of the lane keep assist and steering feedback were fair, but the wind noise I can't agree on.
Also, he must have been driving in sport mode or into a headwind if he couldn't get to 25mpg on the highway. I've had no issue hitting the 26mpg EPA rating for a FE on the...
20mpg in the city is easily done in the 2.0L, even if the winter, unless you do what that guy did with mostly using Sport mode and needlessly idling the engine for extended periods of time.
Auto stop/start makes a big difference in the city if you're sitting at stop lights frequently. I know...
