Great video and I like the way they edited everything together with simple captions dropped in vs. constant narration like a lot of other YouTube videos I've seen. Not knocking the other overlander / camping videos --- I just found this to be a nice contrast. It almost gave it a bit of an ASMR...
Overinflating your tires can wear out the center of the tire faster and decrease the duration of the tire's life cycle. To each their own, but I don't think it merits the nominal MPG gain.
The BL and FE have tow hooks on the front, but there is also a recovery point on rear bumper that can be used if you don't have a tow hitch (which blocks it).
Not sure if you have the tow package or not, but if you don't, check this post out and see if you have the pin. If so, you'll have an...
Most of the continental US west of the Mississippi is at least 75 MPH with several at 80. That's the highest in the country except for one road in Texas (130) that is 85 mph.
I've been hovering between 26.5 and 27 mpg (on the computer) over 20k miles so far on my 2.0 FE. I do live in a city with lots of stop/go (Chicago), but the bulk of the miles have been on long highway drives. I almost always drive in ECO mode, use the auto stop/start and typically try to be...
I'm trying to remember where I saw this (maybe in another thread?), but I saw somebody suggesting using eco mode in the snow with the traction control off. I'm paraphrasing, but I think they said it would allow for more wheel spin, but not so much that loses it's usefulness, because the revs...
The Off-Roadeo folks just sent out an email this morning announcing new dates in Austin, TX specifically for the Bronco Sport starting in March! I don't know if our complaints on here were noticed or it's just a coincidence, but I'm excited and will book a spot in the next few days.
Yeah, I was stunned when I got that same email. This directly contradicts what I was told on the phone last week, but they did say they would communicate to the Bronco Sport owners if the Off-Roadeo became available again, so they kept their end of the bargain there. I just logged in again now...
I was considering the 500, but I found a $100 off coupon on Amazon for the 1000 with two 100w solar panels and went with that. I also get 5% back on everything I buy on Amazon via their store card. It was still very expensive, but every little bit helps.
The 1000 is overkill for overnight car...
I wouldn't say they did it intentionally and I get that a lot of plans/programs/events have had to change because of the pandemic and other factors, but I don't know that the end result is any better.
Getting all the emails about open registration slots multiple times a month is just salt in...
My wife and I did some recon in the garage earlier (25 degrees here ).
With the front passenger seat all the way forward and tilted frontwards to the max, I can fit my Dometic cooler in the rear passenger footwell with the seats folded down. I have to take the headrest off and the cooler...
