I have a 2010 boxy Escape v6 (Limited Trim) and I love the fact the BS is very similar to it in proportions, and that it seems like an improved version of it with more tech/comfort features AND more off-road capabilities. Only "downgrade" from the 2010 Escape is the towing capacity, I think...
Thanks so much for the side by side pics with the boxy escape - I have one and always wanted to see what the b/s looks like beside the boxy Escape. :)
And Alto blue is the color of choice for me too, when I get mine.
Larger WHEELS don't always mean larger tires. With the 17" wheels and the 235/65/17, the BL tires are larger than OB tires in every aspect.
OB has 225/60/18 and BL have 235/65/17 with faux steelies
.(even without steelies, BL has 235/60/17 and those are also larger than OB tires)
I think sat nav is a separate option and not automatically included in BL package.
(But not 100% sure.)
But it does have Apple carplay and that should work well for nav needs....not free like sat nav but that's one way to go.
Same. I've been accused of "wanting the car to be more luxury than a real SUV" etc when I mentioned that in other threads. Glad I am not the only one who sees this as a weird/glaring omission.
I can't see the logic in having heated seats/steering wheel, moonroof and NOT having a freaking GDO!
This is not personal experience but probably a good place to start documenting
(Meant as a placeholder for any future confirmations of these issues by any members here OR future reports in the media)

That's a relief. I own a 2010 Boxy Escape and like a lot of things about it - if the B/S is an improved boxy Escape, and farther from a Renegade, that's exactly what I like to hear....
Sigh...
It is ONE tiny feature that does NOT ruin the Sport as a rugged SUV! quality OR quantity-wise. Can't you just get it? (I think you do, but you choose not to)
this is my last response to you. You were one one of the best posters when this forum started and i loved your posts. IDK what...
modern tech that are considered "lux" items by many. It just didn't fit your argument so now you call them "modern tech". (heated steering wheel and seats... modern tech??)
AND, How is a simple GDO a more "lux" item than the ones I listed?? LOL
I have even posted repeatedly about the need for...
I think heated steering wheel/seats, remote start, Apple carplay, wireless charging pad, moonroof etc are a lot more "lux" than a simple GDO.... The B/Sport already has those as options (or standard, depending on trim), right? And have they destroyed the ruggedness of the B/Sport ?? NO!
You...
1st year "bugs" will take a while to show up.... as in a year or close to it. Some will be immediately apparent, some will take months to be noticed and reported by buyers.
Hoping for few/no "bugs" for all 1st year buyers and for whatever issues that do pop up, I am sure Ford will do their best...
Thanks.
I somehow missed that the BL package does include the heated leather wheel. At one point I knew it and then got side-tracked by the online reviews. They must have driven "lesser" trims.
I am not asking Ford to replace/eliminate any off road stuff by asking for a GDO. It is not a "luxury" item these days; more of a normal cpnvenience item and it will not destroy the ruggedness of the Sport.
It'd be nice to have, and not need to fiddle with a separate dongle. If i can't have...
Congrats!
Questions:
1. Can you confirm there is NO in-car homelink/GDO of any kind?
2. Is the Steering wheel cheap / hard / plasticky feeling like some reviews have mentioned?
I meant a built-in GDO. (Not a separate dongle. I know I can get one from amazon. :))
I love the interior otherwise; adding a small GDO and a better feeling steering wheel is hardly a remodel of the interior.
If there are widespread overheating issues, and a TSB is not issued for 2021, I am sure Ford will fix it for the SECOND year's run ;) ...after observing it for the FIRST year's operation / feedback / reviews.
(AKA another good reason to wait for the 2nd year.... which has been my default plan...
