So the fans were coming on even while the vehicle was sitting and headlights were not being used? wonder why that is - i mean there's nothing to "cool down" if the headlights were off....
There are small trickle chargers that one can permanently mount inside the engine compartment, and have...
... So this is different from the "wiper de-icer" that is only available on the OB and FE? (i guess it IS because that screenshot doesn't mention anything model specific....)
If so, this is great news.
As a forum to discuss AND critique the B/S and COMPARE pros and cons with other models, one should be able to post their dislikes/opinions AND complaints and not be attacked with condescending, toxic posts. After all, if all posts are about only the positive aspect of a car, then there's really...
Yep - certainly understandable in the "by wire" era, and like i said, not a deal-breaker at all, but the "standard" type shifter does provide a more "substantial" feel, and a nice contemporary and purposeful look, and I will def. miss it, having only used only such shifters so far.
....I'd...
WELL SAID!:thumbsup::thumbsup: the "circle" is clearly a gimmicky anomaly and totally toy-ish! I am not a fan of column shifters either BUT I'd take one 100x over this Fisher-Price looking "knob".
--I really do hate it, but not enough to be a deal-breaker.
Don't see Ford changing...
So the OLM (oil life monitor/indicator) on the B/S is not a "fake" mileage-based OLM like on the old 2nd gen Escapes? It won't tell you to change the oil at exactly 5k miles or whatever?
THAT is good to know, and is a welcome feature.
2nd gen Escape OLI is just "monitoring" the mileage (which...
Heh! I think if an old gray-haired tiny lady saw me driving a vehicle with a "dial" type shifter she would laugh at THAT. Her old Chevy Caprice or whatever probably had a tougher feeling column shifter HAHA
IDK why they didn't put a regular shifter in the B/S.
The CX40 does look nice but WHY this gimmicky section / upward belt line near the C-Pillar? If this weird triangle area wasn't there it would look a LOT nicer, IMO
WISH IT WAS LIKE THIS (Excuse the bad drawing)
I'd rather NOT have a sunroof - makes for more headroom, more stable/stronger roof (for loading/tents), no problems with sunroof drains clogging and making the floor wet (went through that with the 2010 Escape-what a nightmare), and one less thing to break.
The moonroof is the one thing I do...
My problem with subarus (several friends and relatives own Foresters, Crosstreks and Outbacks and i have driven a few) is that I just can't stand the CVTs. And less power than most comparable vehicles, and they just look so bland... well, MOST of them.
They just don't excite me much to look at...
I feel like this has ALWAYS been a Ford annoyance. 1997 Tbird, 2010 Escape... VERY short seats... IDK why the heck. It seems they never get updated with time or something.
I am trying REALLY HARD not to be tempted by the Cherokee TrailHawk right now.... one thing that helps me is that I am not...
Sorry if I missed the info somewhere:
to the OP: did you have to get the car on ramps, etc? or was it all doable without lifting the B/S?
Thanks!
PS: I am also wondering if BL trim has to remove more stuff to get an the oil pan/filter due to metal skid plates etc.
If delay upon delay builds up, this could be a long wait for some and will be closer to the date when 2022 models are announced.
IF not in a hurry, I'd say wait for the 2022 model year which I am going to do. 2010 gen 2 Escape can hold me over until then. By that time hopefully the production...
I also have a ForScan tool and the Extended License ForScan software (2.3.38 beta) but it's very limited what I can do on the 2010 Ford Escape. It does NOT have a BCM, just the GEM, so very few things can be changed. I think Escapes might have gotten BCMs from 2011 onwards. There you can do all...
I think my only gripe about the BS is that it is so short it looks like someone chopped it off in the back. The boxy 2nd gen Escape is the perfect length I think (currently own a 2010).
But then if it was longer that probably would have affected the departure angle? IDK.
I love the overall...
