  1. Hood Strut by Redline Tuning Installed

First thing I thought of it that it's a throw-back to the early Bronco. A lot of people put struts on those too!
  2. Anyone pulling camper?

It appears the Maverick also has a 2000# towing limit so I'm not sure why they are equipped with the 7-pin and brake controller. Usually trailer brakes don't come into play at that weight but I suppose small campers could take advantage of the charge wire.
  3. Turn signal on dash hyper flashing

Keep in mind that one of the reasons for using LED bulbs is to reduce the electrical load on systems. Having resistors built in defeats that purpose.
  4. New Big Bend owner

That info is on the window sticker, there are threads on this forum that describe what they are. If you want to post a picture I'm sure you can get a quick answer. Congrats on finding what you wanted!
  5. Anyone pulling camper?

You can purchase a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter, but keep in mind that not only will the trailer brakes not function, the 6th (center pin) is the charge wire for the trailer battery, so it will not charge during transport. The 7th pin is for reverse lights on the trailer (if equipped).
  6. Rubberized seat backs

I had the same thought - maybe the below zero weather caused them to pull apart. I know for a fact they are snapped now so time will tell. Also, We haven't slid anything large into the cargo area with the seats folded, but I can see where if not careful, a lip could get snagged and cause it...
  7. What tires can fit in the spare slot in the Badlands?

Except oddly enough, the spare for BL or FE is not a 235/65-17. I think that is why folks are wondering how that size actually fits.
  8. Storage bin behind touch screen?

Sounds like you found a solution, although it involves having your wife with you every time you drive. Which may or may not be a good thing depending...;)
  9. Leather vs. Cloth Seat Comfort?

I really like the cloth BL seats. It's similar material to the cloth in our '12 Focus Titanium, which after nearly 130,000 miles were in excellent condition. I think those were the best seats I've ever had in a vehicle, both comfort and durability.
  10. Anyone experiencing extra delay for delivery prep at dealership?

In any event, I'd be shocked if the average technician spent more than 10-15 minutes checking fluids. But there's a lot of other stuff on the list (like putting too much air in the tires, which takes time), so if they are short staffed there could be a delay. I was fortunate enough that my...
  11. Spare tire Jack accessories missing?

It's location and use are explained in the Owner's manual: Changing a Road Wheel
  12. My Big Bend disabled 4wd after seconds of climbing on loose ground.

This has become common practice on newer vehicles. In fact my 2006 Super Duty does not have a service interval: "Ford design rear axles contain a synthetic lubricant that does not require changing unless the axle has been submerged in water ." I have a hard time believing it too.
  13. My Big Bend disabled 4wd after seconds of climbing on loose ground.

Correct but I am wondering if there is any fluid change involved for the PTU when they perform scheduled transmission service. It would be interesting to see what the factory service manual says.
  14. My Big Bend disabled 4wd after seconds of climbing on loose ground.

I also haven't seen anything. I wonder if it's covered under the transmission service. I didn't see any specifications for that either. I'm sure Ford expects the dealer to perform that.
  15. Rubberized seat backs

I didn't realize these were snapped on until recently when a slight rattle developed in the luggage compartment. The only snaps holding them in place were along the top. It was a pain to get them all snapped back into place...in fact I had to use a soft-blow hammer to tap the last one in place...
  16. Anyone experiencing extra delay for delivery prep at dealership?

'Full lines' represent the specified amount of fluids that the components require as recommended by the manufacturer. That in no way represents 'without fluids', as you say, and when filled to full lines, do not require 'topping off' or 'reserve'. Doing so would mean they would be over-filled...
  17. Anyone experiencing extra delay for delivery prep at dealership?

Again, what is the bare minimum for engine operation, brake operation, transmission operation, etc. that is not represented by the fill levels on each? And what exactly is this safety precaution you keep referring to? What is so unsafe about shipping a vehicle with the proper amounts of...
  18. Anyone experiencing extra delay for delivery prep at dealership?

I can understand being low on something like washer fluid, but it's far-fetched to claim that critical fluids such as oil, brake and coolant are left intentionally low, especially considering the vehicle is operated at various points during the transport and delivery process.
  19. Anyone experiencing extra delay for delivery prep at dealership?

They do not ship without fluids. What is bare minimum as opposed to normal operating level?
