With all the bad news, I thought I would post some good about my battery recall experience. I have a 2021 OB with around 70k miles. Had to replace the battery after about 2 years as it nearly left me stranded.
Fast forward to this week...Dealer finally notified me they had the parts for the...
Using an older, simple type code scanner - it reads the code just fine, but when I try to erase it keep getting a "No Data Link" message. Tried with power off, power on, and engine running - same issue. Never had this issue with any other vehicle. Any thoughts?
The TSB "fix" simply is not 100%. Throw a set of ceramic pads on the rear and your issue will end. I went through all the TSB reccomended solutions none really worked for long. After a set of pads from Oriellys....25,000 miles on them without a peep!
Save yourself the headaches from dealing with the TSB and the Dealer (the fix doesn't work). Just throw on a set of ceramic pads (I used Oriellys) - never had a peep afterwards!
I think the pads were about $35 at OReillys. Took me less than an hour to install. I coated all the mating surfaces and slider pins with never seize for added protection.
