Using an older, simple type code scanner - it reads the code just fine, but when I try to erase it keep getting a "No Data Link" message. Tried with power off, power on, and engine running - same issue. Never had this issue with any other vehicle. Any thoughts?

Older ELM327 scanners are likely not compatible with OBDII communication protocols in newer vehicle.

For example, modern ODBII readers can read both medium speed (MS) and high speed (HS) CAN bus.

These are compatible with https://forscan.org/ software for Windows, iOS, Android

Windows - Supports bi-directional controls, and module configuration and programming with the $20 extended license.

Another option are the Innova brand of scanners.

Thank you. I'm surprised it read at all.
