For long-term reliability alone, the 2.0L engine is the better option. With the understanding that many people have the 1.5L and have never had issues, but the data speaks for itself. The 1.5L engine has been more prone to problems, recalls, and service bulletins from Ford in comparison to the 2.0L. Not just in the BS, but with other vehicles that use that engine, too. Not saying the 2.0L has been trouble-free, either.

IMO? The 2.0 having more power & torque is worth the extra price of admission alone. The fact that you are looking to buy and not lease is a better long-term choice, as well.

My experience is similar with both the car and the service. The infotainment and displays and lack of available customization settings are terrible. The squeaks and rattles drive me crazy. There's stuff I like -- the size, the 2.0's power, the surround view cameras -- but way too much is disappointing. No way I'd buy another one.

You really have that many squeaks and rattles? My 2025 BSBS does not have a single squeak or rattle anywhere. I've been off roading in Moab and Idaho on some rough roads as well. Have to removed and replaced any interior panels for a sound system or something?

I'm happy that your car seems to be squeak and rattle free. My 2025 with 5,500 miles has been at the dealer for 6 days now. This squeak is part of what I'm hoping they remedy while it's there. There's also a rattle that's coming from the front passenger door that happens with the radio on or off, but more often with the radio on. I believe the dealer had to remove the driver door panel around 2,300 miles because the power mirror control crapped out, but that's the only panel that would have been removed for anything, and that's not where I'm getting noises anyhow.

Yes, I believe it is the same 1.5L engine that was used in the Escape since 2023. Same for the updated 2.0L engine.

Oh that's quite annoying! That is prominent and easily repeatable. 2 techs going for a drive should be able to find that quickly. If the dealership says "We can't reproduce the issue" go to a different dealership. Too bad you don't live close to me, I'd locate the spot in a short drive with ya.

I’m afraid they’re going to try to half-ass fix it or say it’s not covered or some BS. The rattle has been harder to pinpoint and replicate.

I already have a Badlands, if I were to choose the Sport again I would still pick the 2.0 even if it has less creature comforts than what you can get with the Outerbanks. The drivetrain is worth more to me than added amenities.

Easy, if it actually in the seat. Remove the rear seat from the vehicle take it for a drive and verify the sound is gone. If the sound it gone. Take the seat to a upholstery shop have them remove the cover eliminate the squeak and reinstall the seat cover. Remount the seat verify the sound it still absent.

I think I’ve read so many posts from both here and Reddit but felt needed to ask… so let me preface my first post here by apologizing if this millionth post about this topic since the advent of the Bronco Sport.

I am looking to buy a BS and have settled on two options: a new fully loaded 2025 OBX with the Sasquatch package or a used/certified 2025 BL with 15k miles. It would be a daily driver, dog hauler, and camping vehicle. Originally I had planned to default BL but wife really loves Eruption Green (the OBX), while BL I am looking at is in Desert Tan (both discontinued colors and why I am targeting the 2025). I would like to make my wife happy but not at the expense of possible headaches later.

So to the questions: How capable is the OBX with the SAS package? Will I regret not having the extra power of the 2.0 if I go camping? We live in the Washington and would like to explore Olympic Nat’l Forest and do some camping off some forest roads. I don’t imagine we will be navigating over any big rocks or obstacles but imagine may want to climb some hillsides.

Yes, These engines were put in the 23 Escapes when the Escapes got a small face lift to the front grill. So at least the engines had a track record before being put into the Bronco Sports. With the 2.0L MPC in my 25 Escape and the previous version 2.0L in my 24 BS I can tell you at least in my opinion the 2.0L MPC accelerates a little smoother from a stop. No Turbo lag.

Your interior has few nice upgrades. My 24 Badlands has the same interior. A combination of leather and suede front seats. Standard at the time on the 24 when I bought mine with the premium package. The Bronze package before there was a Bronze package. .

With that in mind, there are plenty of people here who are really enjoying their BS experience and that's cool.
Like the op, it all depends on what you had before. This car that I find plenty wrong with maybe a lot better than what folks were driving before.
For you and I-
I think you have to pay a lot to get the most out of this Ford product and if I'm paying a lot to get it right, we all have a lot more Choice out there than Ford would be giving me. This car for me is a lot like a really good looking girl that's kind of difficult to talk to or find anything interesting about her. Good looking, but kind of one dimensional.
That's on me because it's happened to me with both cars and girls before.
I still have work to do on me.
