Not trying to be argumentative but that $101.25 almost certainly includes the $100 deductible for your extended warranty (assuming yours is a $100 deductible)No deductible I know of, invoice read: ML3Z-19A387-D (MODULE-INTER) $101.25

By the way I like your profile picture. Is that hell's revenge? Did you try Mickey's hot tub?No problem. It's definitely not just you! Many dealerships are notorious for refusing to perform warranty work. Or, as in your case, making up some bs reason why they can't or won't.
Not all dealers are like that, but it is very common. I've experienced it many times in almost 50 years of owning vehicles. What I've read in automotive publications, and heard from service advisors posting on forums, is that the reasons many/most dealers do their best to avoid warranty work are:
* The mfr pays a reduced labor rate
* The parts mark-up is less
* There are often hoops to jump through -- additional paperwork, dealer must return old parts to mfr, etc.
Is the extended warranty from Ford?
Is the USB port definitely covered by the warranty?
Yeah same here—mine’s through Ford Motor Company so it should be covered under bumper-to-bumper. Still got charged, and it seems like it just depends on how the dealer runs it, which is frustrating.Exact same thing happened to me on my 2021 Outer Banks, the dealer charged me $100.00 to fix it and I have an extended warranty.
Your BS is well outside the bumper-to-bumper warranty. The repair would be covered under your ESP. On my F150 that is on Ford ESP, there is a $100 deductible:Yeah same here—mine’s through Ford Motor Company so it should be covered under bumper-to-bumper. To be honest, I have no idea where that photo was taken. I'd guess Moab -- probably Hell's Revenge. I grabbed it off Google images as a joke. The BS happens to be the same Cactus Grey color as our Badlands.By the way I like your profile picture. Is that hell's revenge? Did you try Mickey's hot tub?
Yeah mine is actually through Ford Motor Company, so it should fall under bumper-to-bumper coverage. I still got charged though, and it really seems like it comes down to how the dealer handles it—which feels kinda patronizing.
With my extended warranty at this point, I'll pay the hundred to get this over with. I haven't been able to thoroughly connect to my dash screen with my phone since a year after I bought the car. I'm ready for a conveniency and less stress. The c-port to c-port connection dropped yesterday when I was driving. So it's the USB and the c port failing... Super frustrating.Have a look at the warranty guide applicable to your Bronco Sport model year, the link below is for a 2022 but your specific guide can be found online
The bumper to bumper is 3 years, 36k miles whichever comes first (adjust for kilometers outside the USA), if the USB Module discussed in OPs post failed in that period, it would be replaced at no cost
Powertrain warranty is 5 years, 60k miles but I don’t think the USB Module is a covered item
An Extended warranty may cover the USB Module and there is often a Deductible like $100 or whatever
Check your specific Extended warranty (if you have one) to see coverage and deductibles

Thank you for this info. I'm ready to pay the hundred. Seems like it only fails when my RPMs are high or obviously rocky dirt roads where there's bumps and then it drops connection. Pretty much where I need my GPS to work, it tends to glitch out and fail. Went up to Kremmling to go check out the Radium Hot springs on Monday. Sure as shit it lost connection right when I lost service on a shelf road.Your BS is well outside the bumper-to-bumper warranty. The repair would be covered under your ESP. Same with our BS that was purchased as a CPO:

Gotcha—that makes sense. Sounds like you picked the Badlands for exactly the right reason. That kind of steep, tight, no-run-up hill in snow is a legit test for any AWD system. To be honest, I have no idea where that photo was taken. I'd guess Moab -- probably Hell's Revenge. Several months ago a forum member who didn't pick up on my sense of humor accused me of essentially being a poser. I considered replacing the photo with something more tame that no one would get wound up about, but it's a cool image.
It's clear from my posts that I rarely do any off-roading, except here on our property. We've been off-road in Moab, but it was in our Sprinter-based RV!
There are several reasons we chose the BL over the other trims, but one of the main ones is the more capable AWD system. Not because we plan to do any extreme off-roading, but because we live on a small mountain and our road has a section that's about a 25% grade with a hard right at the bottom and a hard left halfway up (you can't get a running start). The only AWD vehicle we've owned that would walk right up it in deep snow is our '97 RAV4 -- Torsen rear and 5MT with manually locking center (front open, no limited slip). That hill is our main concern.
Yep!Gotcha—that makes sense. Sounds like you picked the Badlands for exactly the right reason. That kind of steep, tight, no-run-up hill in snow is a legit test for any AWD system.
Appreciate the context
Accidentally catfishing the forum with a Google Images Bronco is wild work

Making up wild off-roading tales:
"So last weekend we were on the Rubicon and 2 weeks before that it was Moab. Yep, there's nothing like the off-road life..." Yeah, that's the ticket!
Actually, I really don't have much desire to go off-roading, esp with a vehicle that cost the better part of $40,000. I get that it's a challenge, and I can see why people like doing it but personally if I have to drive 0.5 mph I'd rather get out and walk.
We get enough off-roading here on our property.![]()
Jon Lovitz as the character Tommy Flanagan, the pathological liar. A lot of people seem to use that strategy during traffic stops now.Yep!
