I'm the same; Statement balance paid in full each month, so it doesn't matter what the current balance is at any given moment. It's money that would've been spent anyway, so I'll take the points and still get a little interest from the bank on the account I pay it off with. Win/win.
Gotta differentiate between current and carried debt. As long as the latter is zero, it's all good.
