When I took delivery of my Bronco Sport on September 1, the tires had obviously been treated with some heavy duty tire dressing. They look like they were made of some kind of hard plastic instead of rubber. Fast forward to Monday and I washed it for the first time. As soon as they got wet, the tire dressing turned white.
I didn't think about taking a picture until I spent 20 minutes to get this far on one tire.
It some kind of oily substance that emulsifies when it gets wet. You can see the residue on the concrete.
You couldn't scrub and rinse it off, I had to wipe it off the tires and it took several cycles of spray with Simple Green, scrub and wipe.
Not a fan of this wheel design either. I like the overall design, but there are lots of indentations that you have to scrub dirt out of, or you leave a film behind when the wheel dries. It makes cleaning the wheels tedious.
