What is the turbo oil filter? that is something I had never heard of...

The turbocharger has an oil screen, essentially a filter. It looks like a tea brewer but tiny. It was $199 at my local dealer to change out. After watching a bunch of videos about how important clean oil is for a turbocharger, I was like, change it at 40k miles. $199 is cheap insurance.

Just had my ATF and ATF filter changed at 40k as well as the turbo oil filter. Also added 1oz:1qt ratio of Lubegard Platinum to the ATF

The ATF filter cannot be just changed. The transmission would have to be removed from the vehicle and disassembled to change the ATF filter. This is a permanent filter.

Please clarify what you had done to your transmission.

My Ford dealer changed it for $199.00.

I understand you need to mount the transmission but I assume a Ford service dept can. And they did. No problem.

The ATF + ATF filter was $420. This is the dealership card that they wrote the prices on. They changed the ATF and the ATF filter.

Assuming the actual fluid cost was probably 50.00, the 370.00 would make sense with labor.

Everyone here is saying that you are not getting the transmission filter changed for that price and the reasoning behind it.

It's non serviceable without major work and cost.

The $420 cost is probably for a drain and refill.

It's a god damn fluid and external pan filter. Not the internal one.

I just assumed I was talking to educated folks (no snark) who knew the internal filter is only serviceable by taking apart the transmission, as you said.

If you have to change the internal, you don't have a transmission.

Genuinely sorry we were talking about different things when I thought we were talking about the same.
