The dealer is always the most expensive option. Go to a transmission shotp. I had my Jeep Liberty transmission rebuilt for $4500 several years ago. The rebuilt trans. lasted more than 3 years. I sold the Jeep for other reasons.

It didn’t cost me anything. My premium care extended warranty covered it. I think it was $7k
The guy made it sound “plural” so I have no idea.
My only mechanics knowledge is the 03 Lexus IS300.

Additionally it has emission vape codes stating a micro leak in the exhaust. Ive replaced the spark plugs, the coils the emissions purge valve and have had the smoke test done and could not identify any actual leaks. I took it the Future Ford in Roseville CA to diagnose and a couple hours later they call to inform me that they think the problem is the transmission starting to slip. The say I need a new transmission and sent me this diagnosis:

CUSTOMER STATES THAT WHEN DRIVING AT A CONSISTANT 30 MPH CAN FEEL THE VEHICLE SURGING AND CAN SEE TACHOMETER FLUCTUATING WITH SPEE OF SURGING/CHECK AND ADVISE
VERIFIED CONCERN. SURGING COMING FROM TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER. WILL NEED TO REMOVE TRANS AND TEARDOWN TO POINT OF FAILURE. PRICIE INCLUDES REMOVING, DISASSEMBLING AND INSPECTING TRANSMISSION AND INCLUDES REASSEMBLING AND REINSTALLING TRANSMISSION IF ELECTED SUGGESTED WORK IS DECLINED. REASSEMBLING TRANSMISSION AFTER DISSASSEMBLY MAY CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO PERFORM DIFFERENTLY TO THE EXTENT OF NO ENGAGEMENT-QUOTED PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE PARTS
REPLACEMENT TRANMISSION WITH COOLER BYPASS VALVE

The final quote is $16,000! A full transmission replacement cost $16000??? My BS has 95000 on it and has been faithfully serviced through its high-use but short life. It is fully paid for, 3 years old and it needs that much money to fix already. Im not too familiar with the transmission replacement world but 16000 seems absolutely absurd. Does this sound like even the right ballpark monetarily? I think that I will be trading it in for something depressing but will reliably get me through my commute. Any advice out there that may help me decide the best path forward?
I have the same thing going on. Read my solution.

Hey there, can you send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you are working with? I would like to look into your transmission repairs on my end.

Just started happening to me after a 3 hour drive. Tons of surging during acceleration or floating around 35 mph lol

Any update regarding your issue?
The rpms started surging and “bucking” after a 2.5 hour drive and going from highway driving to city driving. Contacted my dealership. Said the transmission techs are extremely backed up and they couldn’t get me in til end of August. It never shuddered again after so I canceled my appointment and decided it was just a hiccup and cancelled appointment. If it acts up again I’m gonna drive it like it owes me money so when something breaks there’s zero chance of “could not replicate”
