2022 Bronco Sport Sirius XM Traffic

We have a 2022 Bronco Sport. We also have Sirus XM with everything. The traffic has never worked. Even though we are paying for it -- it says not subscribed.

I have spent ad nauseum hours on the phone with Sirius....and they can't get it to work.

ANyone else have this issue with the 2022 bronco sport. I just did a sync update hoping that would correct the problem but it didn't.

Kind of annoyed as we never updated the maps...and now we are just out of the 3 years and the update is $109

If you’re only using XM for traffic, save your money on that and Ford’s paid updates. Just use CarPlay or Android Auto. Google Maps is updated continuously, has real-time traffic, and it’s free. Pretty sure both Apple and Android also have music subscriptions cheaper than XM.

Full Disclosure: I’ve only ever used XM in rental cars. I never have or will subscribe to it. I don’t even listen to the radio in the car anymore.

It's my wife's car. She hates connecting her phone to it. But we do use Android Auto when we need to.

It's just annoying to pay for something that doesn't work.

We use Sirius on the TV and through the app so it's well used.

What Build of SYNC 3.4 are you currently running?

So I updated to 3.4.23188

On the center screen:
Tab Settings
Scroll left or right to General
Tab General
Scroll down to About SYNC
Tab About SYNC


I would perform a reset.

That’s a common issue with SirusXM and a paid traffic subscription

your experience may differ from this example but the end result is the same, loss of the traffic subscription

example, my 2022 came with the Ford provided SirusXM 3 month trial subscription plus Ford provides a 5 year traffic subscription

At the end of SirusXM 3 month trial subscription when SiriusXM expired (there’s no choice on that, the subscription will terminate), I had SirusXM switch from the 3 month trial to my own SirusXM subscription

unfortunately when that termination occurs, the 5 year traffic subscription disappears or in your case the paid traffic subscription disappears

I called SiriusXM like you did but you need to get transferred to their actual technical support which are the people that know how to link your paid SiriusXM account to either your paid traffic subscription (if you are paying for that) or to the remainder of the Ford provided 5 year traffic subscription (whichever you prefer), this tech support person manipulates the customer database to link your traffic subscription onto your SitiusXM account and it’s not the customer support people you have been dealing with up to now

Because you said you are paying for the traffic subscription yourself, that is the one that needs to get restored

once you get transferred to the correct tech support person, it will only take that person seconds to restore your traffic subscription

Let me know if this makes sense or if you have any questions. And your scenario may differ from mine but the loss of traffic is the common issue many people have

Do you just ask for technical support? Your scenario sounds exactly like mine. This has been escalated at Sirius multiple times.

I just spent another half hour on the phone with them. Doing another refresh and reset.

Person said they were in tech support but was unable to do what you suggested

Yes. Paying for traffic and travel at 5.98 a month. Also music and entertainment at 6.98 a month.

But if we click on subscriptions in the sport it says traffic is not subscribed.

Every time our special offer is up the renew or to another one. I call to have them change it to military but they keep extending the promotional offers.

Your traffic and travel may have been disconnected when the Ford 3 month siriusXM subscription ended but since you are paying for both siriusXM and traffic/travel (instead of using the free 5 year traffic/travel if that was applicable to your vehicle) it’s very odd that customer service cannot get it to work

I know they did the signal reset many times but have you checked in your vehicle where you are getting the “says not subscribed”… to see if there is a scan that can be done?

When I get to my vehicle I’ll have a look

and when I get home I’ll look up the contact for you
