Yikes, hate the fact that the climate controls are touchscreen only now. Probably won't bother some folks but it would bother me. The amount of physical buttons on my 2022 Outer Banks is my favorite feature, especially the physical play/pause and skip buttons for music, reminiscent of a tape...
Trying to find some more information about this strange thing that's happened a few times with my '22 OBX. Usually, the seatbelt/backup sensor chimes play through the radio speaker, but sometimes, they sound tinny and as if they're coming from behind the gear cluster. The only evidence I've...

The part numbers are there, but theyāve been officially discontinued by Ford. You can no longer walk into a dealership parts department and order temp...
Alright, I thought I replied on this thread already, but maybe not. Iām the original poster, I thought this would be an issue before I got the car. Iāve had it for four months now, and I can confidently say itās not an issue.
Despite the fact that you can scroll past park or drive on the dial...
HUGE UPDATE: Everything is working now!!! Heated seats/wheel, Auto Engine Idle, Parking Brake and Auto Hold are all working normally.
The answer? The darn thing wasn't programmed, most likely since I bought mine from the factory and @jayzala's was used. I figured that out by using As-Built...
So what's interesting is, according to the OBD reader I just bought, all my errors have to do with parts I had to disassemble to get to the temp controls. This is what I have:
===APIM DTC B1087:01-08===
Code: B1087 - LIN Bus 'A'
Additional Fault Symptom:
- General Electrical Failure
Status:

That seems to check out, yours was built much earlier than mine (July, 2022). On the cup holder replacement thread, it was said that cars built later donāt have the wiring. So if that much is different about them, perhaps theyāre also incompatible with older hardware like the ā21 temp controls.
I made that post, and yes, mine does ?
Could be a defective part, or it could be that something actually changed on the production line. @Jayzalaās car also had the wiring for the illuminated cup holders, which I believe mine did not (I didnāt see any extra wiring).
Theoretically, is it possible that an incompatible temp module would throw off unrelated functions like the park brake or auto engine idle off? Or is it more likely I failed to re-connect the connectors properly?
Yeah, youāre probably right. I didnāt realize it before, but my parking brake and auto-hold functions donāt work either. And I did do the software update, it didnāt change anything.
Weird that @jayzala ās conversion worked, since we have the same car (ā22 Outer Banks). Wonder what the issue...
Did the swap last night. The good news is I got everything together in one piece, and the temperature knobs work! The bad news is, something somewhere got screwed up. My heated seats & steering wheel buttons don't work anymore, and I can't choose those options in the remote start menu...
Cost me around $350, but the part is officially "replaced" so you won't be able to special order one from a dealership anymore. Your best bet is finding someone selling it secondhand or by pure luck finding a dealership that still has one physically on hand (like I did). Check out my post here...
You're right, the knobs don't have screens on the 22's or the 23's. Here's a pic of the two parts side by side, you can see there's no physical screen on the 22 version. My car is an outer banks, I'm going to replace the one currently installed with the one shown in my hand.
