Hi All!
I have a problem and need your help.
My shelter filled with 6" of melt run-off and froze. Now my Bronco sits in these 4 depressions with its wheels. Its loose/wheels spinning, but can't get out.
All I need is a 12" pull to get out of the depressions that formed around the tires and get on top of the ice.
But where can I attach a rope, etc., in the front? Mine is the Outer Banks without tow hooks.
For sure don't want to damage anything structural.
I also read that the Bronco Sport cannot be towed at all....? However, it's only a few inches.
Wouldn't it work in Neutral?
Or do I have to wait for spring to melt everything? :) :(

If you are scared about attaching a recover strap or something to the front frame or cross member. Then try some recovery boards or something along those lines; get a chisel and open up the ice for more room to move.

Much younger Kong
Single bottom plow 8N Ford tractor
Same situation you're in now
*Buried*
Finds straight downed tree limb
Lashes limb to both rear tires
Slooooowwwwlllllyyyyyy releases clutch
Just enough to rotate rear tires up out of rut
Low range 4 wheel may do it
And for Godsake don't spin the fulcrum into the vehicle

Typically, the recovery guys will hook on the lower control arms if recovery hooks are not available.

PS: the whole "BB can't be flat-towed" is of course a separate story since, if someone would tow me out of the ice holes, I would be at the wheel of my BB, engine on, in D, and lightly engaging.
So it's only a "finding proper tow points" issue.

did all the chiseling. To no avail since the tires sit also on an earlier ice layer. This is so embarrassing and stupid. I should have thought about that and will make drainage and higher level of shelter floor for next winter as soon as the ice is gone.

If you can manage to get one wheel in the air
Shovel gravel into rut
Move on to wheel No. 2
Repeat process

So, I used the supplied jack, which works btw great, and lifted one tire after other up, put some gravel in the rut ... and out she rolled!! Thanks for the tip!!!!
Btw - if ever in a situation where stuck ... turn OFF the traction control ... will give you the real 4-wheel drive.

This is for any slippery surface. Traction control hinders traction when off-road. It is really only good for rain/dry concrete.

Here's possibly a solution.

A nudge bar install can be a tow point since it's bolted to the frame 🤷.
