My dealer gave me $25 oil changes for as long as I own it. Hubby bought an F250 a couple years ago from the same dealer and has $17 oil changes for life. Sweet deal!

The topic question was how much have others paid for the works oil change, not hey, where can I buy oil for a cheaper price.
Yes, OP asked what other people are paying for an oil change at the dealer, but he also expressed dismay that his dealer charged him nearly 80 bucks. I asked to see his invoice because I suspected his dealer was overcharging for oil. To make my point I compared what his dealer charged with the cheapest retail price, which is generally Walmart.

I'm not sure why comparing prices for oil irritates you; it's not my intention to irritate anyone. Sometimes a question drives a discussion in unexpected directions. I thought breaking down the costs on OP's invoice was relevant in a discussion about the cost of an oil change service. OP posted a copy of his invoice in response to my question, so I believed he was interested as well.

Again, I certainly didn't mean to annoy you.

Well said. It is related to OPs question so it is totally relevant to the discussion.

There was no epiphany moment because you said you buy your oil from Walmart.
I would think people are aware that dealers charge more for parts and service, could money have been saved, absolutely.

I still go back to the Op's base question, what are people paying for the works oil change? The answer is the price can vary, sometimes there are specials, sometimes coupons are offered, you can use Ford pass points and finally some dealers may change your oil for free for some period of time because you purchased the vehicle from said dealer.

It's really not a big deal.

Well I had one of those ep-pany moments that now I think might ear-a-tate me but I'm not quite shore.... I believe I was now undercharged for an oil change that now left me with extra money to go spend on my bang bang. I am so corn fused reading these comments that the theory of relativity is in question. Huh? I probably have this all wong!

Well, that's good; I've never considered myself to be in the epiphany business. More like the bull$--t business, mainly because it goes so well with beer. Nor do I believe I mentioned purchasing my oil from Walmart in this thread. I mean I do ?‍♂, but I don't think I mentioned it here. I don't use Motorcraft, though--I'm far too cheap for that.

It's really not a big deal.
Agreed. :handshake:

Had my oil changed today at Southworth Ford. Cost $52.73, used my Ford pass points 10,546, so I got about 3 more changes left on points.

Beats doing it myself, too stiff in the joints for that crap anymore.....

I have the oil changed twice a year anyway, I've had the Badlands for 6 months now.

Absolutely the best vehicle I've owned......... :fingerscrossed:

I just had my first oil change. I guess I must have been dreaming because I thought I had read somewhere that it was $39. My cost was $79 out the door here in Georgia. I used my points but still was surprised. What are others paying the dealer for an oil change?

I will likely do the next one myself. I thought $39 sounded like a good deal ..... $79 not so much.
I expected the rising costs, so I was proactive and purchased the Premium Maintenance Plan. No cost for regular service for 7 yr or 100k. And transferable to new owner if I sell it.

Sounds like everyone is getting a decent price but me. I had it changed once at dealership in Oregon and again while on a trip in North Idaho. Both places charged me $99. I asked why so expensive and was told it was due to the extra work to remove skid plate to do the oil change.?!?
Hmmm. Stinks I wasn’t expecting the extra expense geeze.

My dealer sends out coupons for $10 off. They took the ten off and then used my point on the balance, which was less than $40. So I paid -0-.
