I figured they were price gouging because it was the dealership. I paid the same as you for the works on my Big Bend the other day. When he rang me up I thought to myself, I won’t be back here after my points are gone….
I pay 55 at jiffy lube for drive up service and haven’t had a bad experience. I used to do my own oil changes but with the filter, oil, and disposal fee it’s easier just to pay to get it done.
You are a brave man. I've heard terrible stories and would never let Jiffy Lube anywhere close to my car. I know not all JLs are the same but I've seen enough bad reports COLLECTIVELY to make me stay as far away from them as possible.

It sounds like there's no up-charge on a Badlands oil change due to removing & replacing the skid plate?

Yeah, they're dinging you pretty hard on the oil and filter. Wally-world sells the oil at $23 for a five-quart jug, and the filters are $4. They're tacking on nearly $10 over Wally-world, and who knows how much over what they pay wholesale.

I’ve seen the stories, the local one by my house is actually pretty decent and they always have a $20 off coupon. It all gets done in 10 minutes without leaving your car. Obviously I go homeand check the oil level just to be sure, but so far, so good…

Jiffy uses the cheapest barrel oil they can buy.
If you see it coming out of a barrel marked with a top tier oil label you have been had. A jiffy lube near me was caught filling those barrels with cheap roach oil and passing it off as synthetic.
Had one leave the drain plug loose in my moms car. It came out. Took a lawyer to get her a new engine.
Only Ford touches my Ford !
Btw I have never been price gouged by Ford.
Get this ! There is a ‘Quick Lube’ near me.
I took a buddies car in for a tag inspection. Their computer was down for about an hour so I started to wait with the people getting oil changes.
Oil changes with full syn cost $85 !!!!
Are you boyz sitting down ?
They had this big bold sign saying “ Conventional oils are bad for the environment and the EPA Forces us to pay an extreme disposal fee so we only sell synthetic oil.
What a Rip off
Then the inspection computer came back up and he said to me before he started, “That will be $25.
I laughed out loud and said the other two inspection locations charge $13.75 and you can kiss my azalea’s.
The other independent shops both charge $49.95 for conventional oil and filter including tire rotations and all fluids topped off and if you want full synthetic it’s at both shops $59.95 and they make a profit.
I’ll stick to Ford.

Like I said: I know they are all not all crappy, but I've seen enough to have me steer clear.

I use Express Oil Change and, so far, they have not messed me up so I will stay with them.

LOL Another oil thread taking a crap.
LOL yeah, sorry not sorry for starting an oil change thread. I just wanted to know if my charges were in line with others and it seems like they are, close anyway. My question answered a while back. Rest of y'all can carry on or just let this one die.....

Michigunman,

It's fine to start a thread, you were asking what people paid for the works oil change. Things went off track when people start saying this or that is a rip off or I can get oil at Walmart, it's like who cares if someone saved $10.00 at Walmart or Jiffy lube.

Some people are on a tighter budget than you. Save $10 here and $3 there. The difference between the cost of my $39 dealer oil change and someone’s $65 dealer oil change is just $25 but I can buy a box of ammo for that and go shoot my bang bang.
Spending more is simply giving my hard earned money away. No thanks not this boy.

Osco,
The topic question was how much have others paid for the works oil change, not hey, where can I buy oil for a cheaper price.
I know several places where to buy oil for less. Again, that wasn't the Op's question.

I used Ford for the works oil change, yes it cost a little more, I prefer to throw my Ford dealer a bone rather than Walmart for my Badlands needs.

For the 3 times a year that you change the oil, the works service isn't a deal breaker.
