Help with Seats

Hello everyone. I picked up my 2022 BB a few weeks ago. I want to love it and mostly do. But the seats are killing me. I’m 6’1 and mostly legs. The seats being rounded at the front corners, and not having squarish corners like most seats is rough. But the fact that they are not deep at all is worse. The seat ends with about 6-7” of space before my knee bends. I feel like I’m sitting on a bleacher bench.

I’ve adjusted the seat a million different ways. I’ve finally gotten it to it’s best spot to where is mostly comfortable. But after a 20 min drive my legs still hurt from the zero support.

I can’t imagine I’m the only one with this issue. Does anyone have a solution?

The vehicle itself is not long that is for sure but you might need to find a place that does custom seats with more bottom length. It's a smaller fit compared to my toyota camry but I'm comfortable in the bronco sport. I'm 5'11 185 pounds.

I test drove the BS Badlands for 40 minutes and can attest to your discomfort. I am only 5’7” and short legs and I think the seats are inadequate and uncomfortable. There were too many positives about the car to have the junk seats dissuade my buying decision. My Toyota Prius has excellent seats, my 2004 BMW has great minimalistic seats, the 2004 Ford F150 I had an upholstery shop ad lumbar support. It feels like your sitting in a Craigslist find Lazy Boy. I was thinking you could possibly add an adjustable thigh support that adds to the lower seat bottom. My BMW has that, but that was an OEM seat.
So I’m going to be in the same boat ? (seat) so I commiserate your dislike. It seems that ford was trying to save money on the interior so we got junk seats. That shouldn’t be the case for a $38,000 suv.

In general Ford is significantly more expensive vs the Japanese equivalent. Way more bang for your buck over there. But I wouldn’t care if I was comfortable. It has me seriously looking at selling it. Which is sad since I like the rest of it.

I saw some extenders on Amazon. But they look like a joke.

5’ 11” 160 pounds and these to me are the best supportive most comfortable seats I’ve ever had.
But I think I said that about my F-150 also.
Op, try lowering the seat and make the back more up right.
This is why after my test drive I always tell the salesman to give me a half hour or more and I dig out the owners manual, and just sit there.

Are your seats manual or power adjustable? Cloth or leather?

It's simply not possible for any seat to be comfortable for everyone--far too much variation from individual to individual. I'm 6' 3" with a 34" inseam and the base (not leather), power-adjustable seats in the Badlands fit me fine. Granted, I've not take a road trip yet, but I have several drives of 1.5 hours or more with no discomfort. I have the seat positioned all the way aft, with the seat pan tilted slightly aft down, the back reclined at bit for a comfortable reach to the wheel, and the height a couple inches up. This keeps my feet on the floor, most of my weight on my back and derriere, and my thighs slightly elevated off the front of the seat.

What seat covers/ cushions have you already explored? There are seat covers that have additional bolstering Stitch into them.

Try~ can get seat cover and wedge some of your own hard foam underneath that to extend the area you would like.
Might have to try different pad lengths but I have done major amazing things with making my driver seat in my 2010 Tacoma more comfortable. it had very limited options and I've been able to sit in it for a couple years longer waiting for this new vehicle.

If the pad wants to keep slipping down cuz your legs are pressuring on it you may have to fix the Pad to something that goes underneath your seat/ butt on the seat. so it does not keep pushing down further.
Can be done.

It’s cloth and manual adjustment. So the height adjustment only raises and lowers the rear of the seat. I have it all the way back and all the way down.

I’m 6’5”, and I’ve found my Big Bend to be fairly comfortable. I have long legs and a shorter torso, so I ended up elevating my seat all the way up and then all the way back.
I’m used to driving with slightly cramped legs, but my setup now has me sitting like I used to in my wrangler, essentially straight up with feet below.
The only downside is now the center arm rest is super low. I wish the seats had a drop down arm rest for better comfort.
I had a Touareg at one point that you could adjust pretty much in any direction possible. I found that more comforting when I could separately raise the front of the seat and lower the rear of the seat, this helped with getting some additional support under my knee/thigh. But like you, I have a good 8 inches between the edge of my seat and the back of my knee.
If you’re that uncomfortable, a custom seat designer may be necessary. Or at least go and sit in some other Ford cars. You may be able to get a better deal than custom made of you find another OEM Ford seat from another ford vehicle that fits you. You’ll have a better chance of it fitting in the car, mounts lining up correctly, and even power seating connection in place instead of having to rewire power supply for a different seat motor.

6'2" here with 34" inseam and an "athletic build," I find the Bronco Sport OB seats to be quite comfortable, so some very long slogs behind the wheel over the holidays were no issue.

But everyone is different.

6'0 tall here. Yea the seat ends kinda half way between my back and knee. I don't mind it much. I developed a seating position with my fiesta that I am used to. Almost all the way up and forward. Then it's pretty heavy lean back. Steering with my knees.

I also have the cloth seat with manual adjustment in my big bend, I'm 5'8 and 210 lbs, the seat feels fine to me but the slide adjustment is either too close to the dash or too far back for me

I'm 6'-2" and I really like the cloth seats in our BL. Super comfortable for me but I'm not exactly sure what the adjustment differences are compared to the BB.

The last 3 cars that I purchased, I hated the seats. Jeep, Honda, Ford Explorer. In all cases, I raised the rear of the seat about an inch with longer bolts and fender washers as spacers. It helped me a lot. It doesn't make up for the short saddle, but it moves the pressure points enough to make it a much better experience. I found the only other solution is a 10-way adjustable seat found in cars costing much more. With those, there is enough control to do as I needed., On the 8-way seats, they have built-in angle change with front to back movement and that keeps it uncomfortable for some, no matter the position.
