My Bronco Sport did not have the engine appearance cover when I purchased it. the dealer could not find out if it had been discontinued on new builds for the 1.5 L Big Bend model so he provided me one free of charge. The cover did not come with the studs for mounting it. The dealer put them on backorder for me. I searched various parts dealers and come to find out the long stud for the rear mount of the cover is not available anywhere and some have commented it is no longer being produced. If anyone has one of these studs I would appreciate getting one. My other question now was the cover dropped for cost saving or is there an issue with heat buildup or turbo damage because of the cover? Any thoughts.

Thanks, I saw this thread was trying to get additional clarification.
I think stud is covered in that other thread if you dig through you will find it.

The long white stud in the back is there. You don't need to buy one. There is now a bracket that is on that stud that has two zip tie locations to hold down hoses now that the cover isn't there. You snip those zip ties and gently pry off the bracket (and discard) and the white post/stud is there. You have to buy 3 of the small black studs and the cover but the threaded taped holes or inserts are there with nothing in them so you just screw then in. It's really easy to do. Apparently the Escapes made in the same factory with the same engine are still having them installed. It's really easy to install. If you need the part numbers I'll post them. Does make the engine quieter.

If you think about it , its a money maker for Ford , probably why the discontinued them on the 2.0 engine also . :giggle:

Maybe for the small minority of enthusiasts. The majority of average owners don't give a crap about what the engine looks like hidden under the hood. They don't see it. They don't change oil or perform any type of maintenance. They don't open the hood, somebody else does.

I never understood engine covers. Tacky IMO.
You got your car! Would you rather have waited another month for the cover supplier to catch up to production?

Ford deletes engine cover and it has what impact on demand or sales?? But they profit an extra $2 per vehicle sold.
