I also figured out how to get super mpg’s on the dashboard !
How’s Dis !
55.5 mpg,
Autographs on special now ! Two for 20 bucks~~~~~~
Notice the 68 mph and the 1850 rpm. Just on the turbo prolly about a two pound boost. I’m not in 8th gear that often but I am now, I think :,P

The MPG gods smiled upon me that day. Averaged 35MPG over 400 miles, ?
3Banger FTW. Mostly in Sport mode, but switched to Eco when on level or downhill grades

Wow, do you commute downhill both ways? My average is 20.9 mpg. It's all city miles. Going from 0 to 20mph every 10 seconds, over and over, basically.

Best I could achieve was 32mpg in Eco with CC on.

I believe if you push the M button on the shifter to go into MANUAL mode the gear you're currently in is displayed at the bottom of the instrument cluster.

I don't believe ECO mode provides any better engine efficiency. It can improve fuel economy by reducing throttle response (you have to press harder on the accelerator to get the same acceleration) and upshifting sooner to keep RPMs low, but it does not improve engine efficiency. If I'm right, there is no fuel economy gain using ECO mode when going downhill or cruising at the same RPM over long distances because those situations do not benefit from changes in throttle response or in shifting strategy. It seems to me Ford will have employed all engine management strategies available to improve engine efficiency in highway driving situations in NORMAL mode, it would not reserve them for ECO mode only.

This was a southern Arizona run from Southern Border up to Phoenix and back, only gassing up in Tucson due to it being about 15c cheaper per gallon than Phoenix. Maybe I miraculously had a tail wind in both directions? I also tried to draft behind larger vehicles on the highway when I had the chance.

Drafting, a very good way to break a windshield that can take three months to get another.
Had a buddy doing that. He was quite surprised when a pick up tail gate popped out from under those rear duallies and took out his front end. Right wheel turned right and the left one turned left.
He, his Nissan and his wallet had a bad day.

I'm not surprised with the 1.5. Even with my 2.0 I get 30 on regular routes if I don't have to fight the wind too much. Strong wind, forget it but a normal day/trip and 30 or more is easy. Even after 19K miles my overall average is better than 28 (I manually check it with it fillup).

Great point, but in AZ rock chips and cracked windows are a way of life Drafting or not. But yes the risk of it happening more often is there especially for trucks without flaps
