So we’ve had our BS for two weeks now,
love it. Swapped out the stock tires (225/60/r18) to a 235/60/r18 Yokohama geolander. Picked up and installed the Yakima roof rails, finally got the all weather mats in and kicked out the laughable spare tire and realized I can fit a lot where it once was. (2 pairs of ice skates, 2 pairs of snowshoes, two sets of poles and my wife’s hockey gloves)
Thanks for looking.

lol it’s not as useful as a full-size spare but I wouldn’t say useless. It looks like you’re prepared for the event of a flat nonetheless with snowshoes which can also be useful to walk home. What are you planning on equipping to the cross bars?
Headed out for the long weekend. Lol
were looking at the Thule force xt xl roof carrier. And perhaps maybe down the road a rooftop tent

I’ve always heard that on AWD systems if it’s not a full-size you’ll destroy your drive system

I'll keep my temp spare, just in case I get a sidewall tear or an unpluggable hole
I'll continue to carry my good plug kit and mini compressor.
Way easier than a tire change.
Never had a plug fail on me..
Will continue to watch for an aftermarket spare mount that hangs on the back and swings out like the Dodge,, er as you were, Jeeps, sorry, :'p
Then I'll get a full size.

Just curious what is the size of that "mini" spare?

How did you order those by chance. The Yakima website is garbage and won’t even let me select a system without selecting a vehicle. If I select the BS it won’t let me select the 50” bars. It’s a really frustrating web design.

I measured the the rails on the BS and also inquired at one of my local rack shops to see what model of mounts I’d need(649.57$ from them) then picked up the kit from Canadian tire 479.99$ https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/yakima-timberline-towers-raised-rail-system-small-1400223p.html#srp

as you’ve seen in the photos a 60” bar would clearly be much too long for most.

T155/70R17

24.9"x4"
...and the (section?) width is 6". A T175/90D17 (not "R") is 29.5" tall on a 4.5" wheel, and 6.8" wide. For comparison, the standard P225/65-R17 is 28.5" tall on the 7" wheel, and 9" wide. I wonder if there might be that 0.8" to spare under the lower cargo floor position for that taller, wider compact spare? It might be a great temp spare with the optional 29.5" P245/65-R17 so many are interested in. If such temp spare would be usable/safe.
