I have been having the same issue intermittently. My wife and I both have iPhones 15 with the latest version of IOS 26. Just the other day we started out for first time that day and my phone did not connect. Went into the phone menu and told sync to connect my phone. Sync just kept searching for the phone until it stopped searching. I pulled over and shut the BS off and tried again. No luck. Shut the phone off and tried again no luck. Told sync to connect wifes iPhone 15 also no luck, sync just kept searching for her phone. Finally just gave up and continued driving without the phone connected. After shopping with the BS sitting awhile the phone connected as soon as I started the BS. Has not happened since the last time the other day. We were near the dealer and if it the phone still did not connect I was going to stop in and ask how to do the sync soft reset.
There is also a TSB 24-2184 June 6, 2024 but I recall the dealer once telling me it did not apply to my BS but I may go back to them again.

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM
In all the affected vehicles, due to an error in the SYNC software, you may experience SYNC system
instability concerns and/or a failure to preserve certain settings across ignition cycles. This may result in a black infotainment screen that does not affect rear view camera, incorrect language setting, erased or unsaved radio presets, and potential inability to perform software updates.
