Hey everyone ! Quick question…. Within the last week I’ve noticed my Bronco is having heating issues. I can turn the heat on up to 85 and it will blow cool air even after the car is warmed up. This happens while I am parked and idling. When I get driving down the road for a bit the heat gets going. Any thoughts on what this could be ? Thanks in advance. 😁

Are you using the fan or the Auto? I've only had mine for a week or so, but Auto seems to blow colder. If I want heat, I use the fan.

It seems to do the same with either. Even if I put it on defrost it blows cold air if I am sitting idling. Then when I get driving down the road the heat gets going.

I noticed the same on my car this month... never had that issue before. I do have a current coolant leak, though. That could be the cause?

Check your coolant level.

Don’t think so. Car isn’t running hot and I haven’t seen any leaks. I will have to check the coolant levels when I get home from work. Wouldn’t the system alert to low coolant ?

Just open the hood and look at the reservoir on the passenger side. This takes 10 seconds.

You'd think it would, considering they give a warning for low windshield wiper fluid, but no. 😭 I noticed an empty coolant reservoir earlier this year and had to have my engine replaced. Got it back from a transmission replacement in September (my car is a mess) and checked the coolant because I was about to go on a road trip, and the reservoir is almost empty AGAIN. 🥲 No warning lights, just need to visually check it regularly.

So this was disturbing. I checked the coolant level right after I left work. It wasn’t even registering minimum levels. 😳I added about 3/4 gallon of fluid. What would cause the bronco to be using this fluid ? I have not seen any leaks on the driveway at all. Please forgive what could be seen as a silly question. I am not mechanically inclined.

Good thing you checked! I read a lot of people had issues with the water pump. In my case, I had a cracked engine block and coolant was going into the engine... but since the leak is back, I'm not sure the dealership correctly diagnosed it. Are you still under warranty?

'22 BB with 64K miles. As of three days ago, the heat became extremely inconsistent and variable. Warm air on driver side vents, cold air on passenger side vents. First time that has ever happened with heat or A/C. l'll check the coolant reservoir.
