Good thing you checked! I read a lot of people had issues with the water pump. In my case, I had a cracked engine block and coolant was going into the engine... but since the leak is back, I'm not sure the dealership correctly diagnosed it. Are you still under warranty?
You'd think it would, considering they give a warning for low windshield wiper fluid, but no. 😭 I noticed an empty coolant reservoir earlier this year and had to have my engine replaced. Got it back from a transmission replacement in September (my car is a mess) and checked the coolant because I...
Oh no! 😩 Hopefully they can figure it out soon. My car was stuck at the dealership for over 30 days when they replaced the engine due to cracked engine block... and when I got it back, there were even more issues that they never fixed in the end. 😢 Going to a different dealership soon. Hopefully...
My coolant was low out of nowhere and I took it in and they couldn't find anything. I took it back again a month later, and they found that there was coolant in two of the cylinders and had to replace the engine.
Few months later, had the transmission changed (for a different issue) and got it...
That's something! I contacted Ford before my 3 year warranty was up, and they said that they couldn't do anything because my states lemon law is only 2 years, 18k miles. :( Not even an extended warranty or any help. I'm curious how much the goodwill warranty will cover.
A little less than 4k.... I got it through Flood Ford (cheaper than Granger). Premium Care, $0 deductible, up to 10 years or 100,000 miles. I'm definitely going to need it for this thing.
I had a coolant leak and got a new engine... shuddering and got a new transmission... all before 36k miles. Changes fixed none of the issues. Coolant leak again just out of warranty... going to take it to a different dealership. Paid almost 4k for extended warranty... hopefully it covers...
I had shuddering in stop and go traffic at 10mph and 18mph (at low rpm)... got a new transmission and torque converter, and it was slightly better for a week and now back to usual shuddering. 🥲 I don't know what to do anymore.
I'm in the exact same boat! New engine at 34,000 miles and loads of other issues that they can't pinpoint the cause of! I was thinking about the Trailsport Elite as well... warranty is almost up and there's no way that this car will make it past 5 years without more issues. Even with the...
Update: got the new engine, and it didn't fix any of my original concerns. May even be worse now because when it shudders real bad, it now sounds like a bowl on top of a table during an earthquake.
When we originally took the car for the test drive before, they shut me down when I mentioned...
Oh man!! Good thing you didn't give up! Crazy how the car was still young and needed such a serious fix. Definitely makes me consider an extended warranty.
I brought it back and sat in the car while the technician drove it. Turns out, I need a new engine. ? I had a coolant leak last month that they couldn't find the source of, and this time they realized that the coolant was leaking into the engine. Let's see how this goes...
Has anyone signed up for Ford Protect? With all these issues, I'm wondering if it's worth it, or if it's even legit. Have not called for a price estimate yet.
Awesome that they found the cause! I've had shuddering (when it tries to switch gears) that is getting worse, but of course they could not replicate it. I'm close to hitting 36k miles, so I'm worried that they will finally find an expensive cause once I'm out of warranty. How was yours still...
Just changed out my cabin air filter for the first time at 33,000 miles. Anyone else have a bunch of fluff on theirs? I never saw something like this with my old car. Could it be pieces of some sort of insulation from when it was first built? Or due to creatures making my car their home?
