Greetings fellow Canadian, I also have a 2025 Big Bend and it did not come with a block heater. I have had no problems with cold weather starting but here in southern Ontario the coldest its been is - 6. or. - 7 C. You must live much farther north than I do.

My question for you is how well does the BB start at - 25 C. ? A better question might be how does the battery perform at that bone chilling temperature ??

For those members of the forum who are lucky enough to live in the southern US , it is difficult to convey just how cold - 25 C is . At that temperature exposed skin will be frost bitten in a few minutes !

Everyone stay warm !

Cheers

I lived north of Fairbanks in the 80s and -40F was a common low temp and they set the record in 1989 at -70. We plugged our vehicles in from October to the end of April or they wouldn’t turn over in the morning. We didn’t get much warmer temps in the day than we did at night. I’m going to say your temps will be hard on your Bronco’s starting system and starting performance will suffer

We live in southern Alberta the prairies can get get cold for sure the bronco has started we’ll had to boost once thinking of getting battery warmer and block heater part JL3Z-6A051-A which I think is the new replacement the early block heaters overheated causing fire risk and coolant leaks as per recall 25s52 does anyone know if the new block heater cures the overheating issue

Having no block heater is terrible! That should be standard equipment for Canadian models. I live in Minnesota and ordered my Badlands and my Maverick both with block heaters. It is a must for winter here. Far less issues with vehicles with them installed and using them.

I haven't seen any information about the new block heater.

Your local Ford dealer should be able to offer advice about cold weather starting in your area , their vehicles are parked outside also !

-40C in Fort McMurray and never needed block heaters with synthetic oil. Battery might freeze over so we added blanket for that, but never had an engine block issue.

Greetings fellow Canadian, are you referring to an AGM - type battery in your Outer Banks ?

Does anyone in the forum know if AGM batteries are more resistant to extreme ( - 40 C ! ) cold ?

Cheers

I moved to Calgary in 2012 so no experience with the AGMs in that climate, but they won't freeze so I probably wouldn't bother. (Our 2019 Edge battery was still fine though six winters when we traded it in for the sport in October)
