Hello! My 2025 Bronco Sport (Badlands) has 9k miles on it. I don't take it off roading or anything like that. Just city and highway driving. About a week ago I noticed that when I turn, any direction, there is this "creaking" noise (like a small grinding sound, imagine an old door opening). Sometimes it's worse than others. But I know this, it's not supposed to sound that way. Anyone know what that is and what I should say (again) to our local Ford dealer (I've had to bring this car in multiple times). Thank you in advance.

  • Is it when you're actively turning the steering wheel, or continuous while the wheels are turned?
  • Is it at all speeds, or only in a certain speed band? Does it do it while stopped (but turning the wheels side to side)?
  • Where does it sound like it's coming from (left/right/front/back)?
  • Your description of the sound is a bit difficult to interpret. Can you be a bit more specific? Maybe an audio sample?

Since you said it only occurs during turns, I'm thinking it's either front suspension/steering gear, or related to the power steering (pump/pulley/belt). The latter is more likely, but right now that's only a wild guess based on your description. If you're not getting satisfaction from the dealer for this issue I'd suggest taking it to a local shop for another opinion.

Have you had a chance yet to look over all the Technical Service Information for your 2025?

Link: https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/

Here is one you can show your dealership service manager:

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
Clicking/Creaking/Clunking/Rattle/Rotational Noise From The Front Strut Area When Turning The Steering Wheel

Same info for TSB 25-2347 is here:

I also have a 2025 BS BL that makes that creaking noise when turning from a stopped position only. May be reference TSB 25-2347. Called my Ford dealer and have an appointment on the 12 this month. Will let you know how it comes out.

I had the same problem. According to my dealership, it was a faulty strut mount. And mine started with only about 1,000 miles on it. They took care of it, and no problems since.

Well the dealer told me they have to order the parts for the TSB 25-2347. How about that "Dude", you were right! Then they told me there is a slight front tire alignment needed, Only have less than 400 miles on it! No i did not hit or bump anything with those tires. Damn i miss my 71 Bronco Sport. Chrome stripe down the sides and around all glass front and back, 302 with A/C. It even had a sporty round bar chrome luggage rack. If i remember right those Bronco's were built on a 1/2 tone truck frame. Those were the days, simple. Oh almost forgot those Armstrong Tru Tracks!!! Enough reminicking.

How did the appointment go? I have a slight creaking noise on mine when turning the wheels also.

I went to my dealership to check to see if the repair I had done was done according to the Service Bulletin? The Service Bulletin came out 5 days after my repair, so they only fixed the strut that was creaking. Not both sides, which is required in the TSB. And they can't do anything about it unless the other side starts acting up. So, I guess unless they make this a recall there is nothing I can do? Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks

Have to give credit to Dude who turned me on to TSB25-2347. Picked up my 2025 BS BL from the dealer today. They replaced both front Jounce Bumpers on the front strut and spring assemblies. The noise is gone. the Tech said the vehicle was pulling to the side which i never noticed so they also did an alignment. Drives and sounds like the new car it is. Give that TSB# to whoever you talk to and also leave it on the console for the Tech to see. Thanks again, Dude!

I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow for steering wheel creaking when turning right even when not moving. I will give them this TSP. Thank you Dude for this information.

I will. Carl2 I see in your post the dealer also did a wheel alignment. I am wondering if an alignment needs to be checked after the repair? The TSB doesn't specifically mention alignment just refers to the WSMSection 204-01 Front Suspension > Removal and Installation.
