2021 BS Outer Banks w/ 93k miles. Lately it's been hard to start. I press the ignition button and it will crank for 10 seconds or so before firing up. Does not happen all the time, but seems to be getting more frequent. I was thinking to run some Seafoam through it (both a fuel tank additive plus the Seafoam spray for the upper air intake). Just wondering if anyone has other suggestions? Are the fuel injectors easy to replace on the BS?

One more piece of info. The BS recently threw a P04F0 code on the EVAP system. I reset the code and it's not come back yet (I've driven 500 miles or so since resetting). The hard starts were both before and after the code.

I appreciate any thoughts you guys/gals might have!

It sounds like this is your problem.

Have the Spark Plugs ever been changed?

If you haven’t replaced it yet — new battery (AGM)
I did just take it in for the Battery Recall. They didn't replace the battery - I think it was just recalibration on how it measures battery health.

I usually (proactively / preventively) change batteries at 4 or 5yrs. Its cheap insurance vs having to pay for a tow or jump. All that said, I doubt this is a battery issue as it is cranking fine.

I was thinking to change the plugs when I do the Purge valve that THOMASM23 mentioned above. Thanks.
If they're the original Plugs I'm sure they're long over due and need replaced.

Do you "top off the tank" when filling the gas tank? That can cause the charcoal canister to fill with fuel, which can cause that code. Have you changed the spark plugs? It would be a good Idea.

I doubt that the spark plugs are bad. The stock spark plugs are iridium tipped plugs. Ford recommends changing every 100,000 miles.
That's what Ford recommends but do You know how Boost effects plugs?

Quick update: I ordered the Purge valve. But lately it has been firing up normally. If I get another rough start I'll go ahead and change the Purge Valve.

Side note: Way back when it was still under warranty, the Dealer had it in for almost a week trying to repair / cure the EVAP codes it was throwing. After the third time in, they finally gave me a loaner and kept it a week coz they were bumping up against the Lemon Law. Once they found the problem, the tech said he found a bunch of sand inside the purge valve. IDK, interesting...

Do you drive off road?

The purge valve assembly sits on the top of the engine. It is connected to the tube near the firewall and next to the fuel line. When the purge valve opens, it should be pulling vapors only from the EVAP charcoal canister.

Was the sand in the EVAP charcoal canister?

Sorry, that was 2yrs ago - I don't remember exactly what they replaced. But yes, at the time I was doing a lot of off road driving (22km each way once a week up in remote Canada down a two-track sandy road)
