And this is not a political view just a simple fact, and this post hit the nail on the head. I have bought my last “American” vehicle. I just cannot see us hiring, training and developing competency before I die of old age.
Actually, I have high hopes on the training and competent hires on the automobile front BECAUSE of all the older people being able to come back to work, here in the USA...also, my great nephew just got hired by Porsche fresh out of technical school, at 22. Of course, and I'm not too biased, he is scary smart and always has been. He scored way high on their test and was 1 out of 10, hired in the entire country out of thousands. So, high hopes...

I don't really have issues with tariffing Mexico, but leave Canada out of this. They buy a lot of USA products and we buy a give or take equal amount excluding oil products. Mexican labor is next to nothing and we cannot compete with that. Canadian and European standards are at least equal to ours. The biggest detriment to the cost of the USA labor force is the cost of healthcare.

This thread is full of political views. I’m asking that the administrator remove any reply containing political views or remove the entire thread.
"political views" or consequences? I see a lot of us here simply discussing and talking about what can happen and various scenarios that could occur based on the decision that was made.

This is information that is widely available as well - maybe not on Fox News...

It's also all debate and speculation - we don't know till it happens. Hence why lots of "would" "may" "might" etc...

this also not far from the realm of speculation outside this forum - stocks plunged today because...no one knows what happens next. Is this political? or a simple consequence?

It’s an absolute joke to post no political views allowed and then many of the posts contain political views including some poking at the Trump administration without using his name. I don’t want Canada as part of the USA. The country is a messed up joke. Oh, darn it. Unlike others on this thread, I will probably get suspended for this opinion. I didn’t start this but I’m a big supporter of this administration and I won’t allow others to post negative reviews of our President without a comeback. If you understand the stock market at all, you will know that the market goes up and down based mostly on emotions. That’s why it can go up 600 points today and down 600 tomorrow. So go ahead and kick me off of here because this thread makes me ?.

No reason to get all heated there plus I haven’t read anything negative towards the administration here. The discussion around here is nothing more than about consequences based of decisions and educated guesses of what’s to come - both grounded in economic reality:

- vehicle prices may increase by 25% or less
- stock market will react to tariffs and could wipe out billions because of consequences not emotions

and then a few small pointers here and there but that’s all we are debating.

it’s discussion points - this is the same thing I saw before when the EV requirements rolled in from the previous administration: there were consequences and speculation of what it could happen…the main difference is that…that one was far away and this one is days away.

Cars imported to the U.S. under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) will be hit with tariffs only on their non-American components.
Does anyone know the U.S content percentage for the BS? Maverick?
