I have run into a strange issue that I wonder if any other 2025 Badlands owners have encountered. Heck any owners with memory seats!

I have setup my memory seat for position 1. Based on the owner's manual I should be able to link this preset to my keyfob. The instructions simply say to hold the preset button until you hear a second beep at which point you hit the lock button on the keyfob. The problem is no matter how long I hold the button it never beeps a second time.

Has anyone with memory seats, specifically a 2025 Badlands, been able to get this to work?
I went to the dealer, and they didn't know and then called later to tell me that my specific model doesn't have memory seats! Which is news to me since I am using them.

Any thoughts?

Look at the bright side. You have memory seats (which the dealer says you're not supposed to have) in lieu of folding mirrors (which Ford says you are). Sounds like a fair trade to me... ?

I have the presets but personally never bothered with linking it to my key fob. I find I am always resetting the seat position by little movements based on how long I am in the seat or what type of clothing/coat I am wearing so never felt th need to link the fob. That said below are the instructions from the 25 owners manual. Are you starting the procedure exactly as it is written in the manual and below?
If you are maybe the dealer will let you try to link a key fob from a BS on the lot that has the same seat memory function as yours to see if you can link the fob on that BS. It is possible that even though the feature to link the setting to your key fob is listed in the owners manual that Ford deleted that feature and did not change the owners manual to reflect the change. It would not be the first time the owners manual was not up to date where features were deleted but still showed up in the owners manual.

If all else fails you can contact Ford Customer Service at least through Chat. Not sure if this is different than just calling Ford Customer Service.

Linking a Preset Position to your Remote Control or Passive Key
Your vehicle can save the preset memory positions for up to three remote controls or passive keys.

1. With the ignition on, move the memory features to the position you prefer.

2. Press and hold a preset button for five seconds. A tone sounds after two seconds. Continue holding until you hear a second tone.

3. Within three seconds, press the lock button on the remote control you are linking.

To unlink a remote control, follow the same procedure – except in Step 3, press
the unlock button on the remote control.

Note: If more than one linked remote control or intelligent access key is in range,
the memory function moves to the settings of the first key to initiate a memory recall.

I never set up the key fobs for mine. I did that in my truck years ago and the problem is I use one set of truck keys for around home and with the 5th wheel and another set with the truck camper, so it would mess me up. I may try set them up on the bronco, but I even have the feature that moves the seat back to make it easier to get out turned off because 90% of the time it would return to the proper place, the other 10% you had to hit the memory button while in park. at least with my truck I can change memory positions while I drive so I have one set up for every day, one that moves me back a smidgen to change my leg position on longer drives and the third I don't use.

you could have seat position memory but you may not be able to link them to key fobs. I know mine is a 2023 so I will check it out these days off if I can link it to my key, I am supposed to be able to.

I have followed the instructions exactly. I even brought them up on screen to show the dealer. We also looked at the quick reference book inside the glovebox. They all said the same thing and we followed them exactly. Hold the button wait for 2nd beep, which never happened.

That would be great! I would be interested in knowing if you could.

This obviously is not a major issue. I saw it in the manual and wanted to set it up since my wife and I have used this feature on other cars before. It is in the manual I figured it should work. It not working makes me wonder if A) I missed something or B) there is something not setup correctly.

I have a 24 outerbanks. I have my wife's fob linked with preset 1. My fob is linked to preset 2. What is also nice is that the mirrors will also move to the preset position.

Just to confirm. When you tried to set it up and link a fob, was:
1) the vehicle on, engine off
2) the vehicle on, engjne on
3) only one key fob in range
4) the vehicle in park or neutral

I am not sure how accurate the '5 second hold' is. How long do you think you continuously held the preset button?

I have tried all of those situations. No change. I have held the button for at least 10-20 seconds.

It is great to know that you have set the fobs in your OB. I figured this is something that is supposed to work, but that some of the changes in the 2025 have possibly broken it. At least that is my working theory.

While I really doubt it, it is possible that Ford removed the feature on the 25 model year. That is why I suggested trying another BS on the dealer lot. The owners manual of the 23 Escape Titanium that I had still said that the car had the hands free rear hatch open and close using your foot even though it was deleted in the 23 model year.

Honestly my friend! I have 23 OB and I never given a second thought about linking them. I have preset my seat position and it sets every time the engine is turned on and back again when turned off. I do not whats up the 25 but good luck

I turned my easy exit feature off as about 1 on 10 times it wouldn't go all the way to the stored position, have you noticed that?

I am glad you posted your comment about the easy exit feature. I have been thinking about posting the same to see how many others have noticed it. I think this is a quirk in how easy exit feature works. I never bothered to bring it in for service as it is one of those things that will never be duplicated when you want it to happen. I have 3 Fords in the family that I have occasion to drive. With each one of them every once in a while when starting the car the seat fails to move back to the driving position and I have to stop the cat and hit the memory button to move the seat into the correct position.

I was going to mention it to ford on my last service, but I turned it off when I had people in the back and just never turned it back on. I am the only one who drives it so its no big deal. but what did surprise me is you can't change the positions with the preset buttons while you are driving, in my truck I can, so I can switch to my highway position for long trips when I start getting restless legs with out stopping, then when I am coming up to a city I can hit the first button to return me to a normal driving position.. but like you mentioned with the bronco sport I have to stop and put it in park to finish the non complete move or to put it into position 2

I have the easy exit feature turned off as it did nothing for me since I already had the seat all the way back. Interesting that it doesn't seem to work all the time for you all. Frustrating I bet though.

you can't change the positions with the preset buttons while you are driving
I also wish you could use them. I mean I can manually move the seat with the controls, so it isn't the fact that moving the seat is not allowed. Must be some other reasoning for it.

Thanks. I wish I knew what was up as well.

The dealer doesn't have any Bronco Sports in stock that have the seat function so no testing there. I was hoping another 2025 owner might try to test it and confirm if they have the same issue as I do.
