I'm out, traded for a 2025 RAV4

My '23 BB only has 1600 miles on it and has been trouble free so far. I will be paying off the remainder of my loan next month. I must say from reading about the many issues with this vehicle and the 1.5 engine it certainly has me thinking about doing the same exact thing as the OP. I will be 70 next month and just want a super reliable vehicle that my road bike will fit into. The RAV4 certainly fits the bill.

I'm driving at 5-6,000 feet elevation which decreases mpg

Higher elevation means less wind drag.

I'm 69, always preferred Fords. My 2021 Sport has been in the shop more than it hasn't. New transmission just started doing the same thing it did less than a month ago. Horrible noise under the dashboard this time. My service rep said we will have to sit down with his bosses and figure out what to do. I've been buying cars at this dealership for over 48 years. I rented a RAV, did NOT like it at all. I love my Bronco when it's running, but I too no longer trust it. Have to get a AWD or 4WD, don't go off-road, but do need for snow. What do you like the most about the RAV? How's your insurance rate?

My Ford inventory began with a '71 Mercury Comet GT 302/factory 3sp on the floor original. Replaced with a 4sp. Both top loaders. Then, in no particular order, '71 Maverick 302/auto, '98 Crown Vic LX, '08 Escape v6 4wd, '18 Escape 4wd, '19 Ecosport titanium, '20 Fusion awd, '22 BS BB and my new '24 BS BB. My wife has an '03 Mustang convertible we've owned for 10 years. Every one of these vehicles were regularly serviced and, with the exception of the '22 BS, had no issues other than the normal replacement of brakes, tires, batteries, belts, plugs, wipers, well, you get it, were great. The Comet GT was special in that I owned it when I met and married my wife of 45 years. We drove from SoCal to Vegas on our honeymoon, middle of June, no AC, but what a fun driver! It too was totaled when a guy decided to turn left in front of me as I was going over 60 mph on a county road. I'm 76, will be 77 March 1st. For better or worse, and I'm banking on the former, I'm standing by my Ford Bronco Sport! That's just me. As I stated above, I understand the op's decision and I wish him all the best with his new ride.

10-4 On all my road trips to higher elevations, I've always got better milage.

Whether Wyoming, Colorado or Utah. Maybe it's better gas than the panther piss we have in Ca. Not sure

I sometimes think one of Toyota's design goals is boring. They're for people who view their car as a tool, not a lifestyle statement, and they want the most reliable tool possible for the money they spend. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, and Toyota has built a reputation on selling reliability. Hopefully, they can hold on to it.

Other than the Crosstrek, Subaru's still look like they were designed in the 90's.

First of all, I'm a life long Ford owner, I am 60. My father retired from Ford in the early 90s. I'm thoroughly disappointed in the quality and reliability of this Bronco Sport. I have had my vehicle in the shop 3 times and this latest was almost a month. The dealer has also sent a technician to my house 2 times to update computer software or some such a thing. I cannot keep a vehicle if in the back of my mind I'm always wandering if this vehicle will break down or have an issue while I travel from Wyoming to Ohio to see my mother and sister, or from Wyoming to SE Texas to see my son and grandsons. On the day my vehicle was ready to be picked up for the 3rd time, I drove it right across the parking lot to the Toyota dealer whom also owns the Ford Dealership. This was a decision that I struggled with but, I cannot continue running to the service department. The vehicle had just over 14,000 miles on it and it was not driven hard or off road for that matter. It sucks because I really like the looks of the Bronco Sport vs the other smaller SUVs ... it's too bad that the 1.5 engine has its issues. The RAV4 is a 2.5L 4 cylinder and a hybrid and gets substantially better gas mileage. The RAV4 also has a larger Cargo area and drives about the same as the Bronco Sport. Good luck to the BS owners ...

Never was a Ford person. But liked the old Broncos and Mustangs. I had my reservations and did my research and that is why I went with the Badlands with the 2.0 l 4 cyl turbo. So far so good, knock on wood.

Seems a pretty common complaint on the 1.5 trims, time in dealership.
