Installed this hood light and tested it by touching the wires to the battery posts so now i grounded the black wire to a permanent ground but were is the easiest place to connect the red power wire i know there is a lot of electronics in these don't want to screw up other things. Thanks

depends what you want it to turn on with, accessory power, running lights, low beams...
also for your ground you're probably fine if you went to the chassis somewhere or of course the negative battery terminal. but if you wanted it cleaned up, I used the green and black wire on the headlight harness for a negative lead when I installed signal markers. its the thickest gauge green and black wire. page 3 post #33 on my ride thread. solder and heat shrink is the way to go.

I used the headlight extension cable from Tectico available on Amazon so I didn’t have to splice into factory wiring, my light turns on when the Auto headlight is activated, so it’s not on all the time, if you want it tied into the the DRL, just needs to be tied into one of the sides.
Drivers Side:
Large Black / Green - Ground.
Large Brown / Blue - Power.

Passenger Side:
Large Black / Purple - Ground .
Large Blue / Green - Power.
