Want the light strip on with running lights

Installed this hood light and tested it by touching the wires to the battery posts so now i grounded the black wire to a permanent ground but were is the easiest place to connect the red power wire i know there is a lot of electronics in these don't want to screw up other things. Thanks

Took a photo of my water pump in my 4/23 OBX and i can make out the # 8501-BA now is this the newer one or the problem one? So far all is good but only have 3056 miles since May 23.
