Has anyone put 1" or 1.25" wheel spacers on and had to grind down the wheel studs?

I own the Titan wheel spacers as well. Fit perfectly without grinding any studs. I removed them when I increased tire size for excessive wheel well rubbing. Just sitting on the shelf collecting dust now.

Ok thank you. Titan is what I was looking at (1"). But I'm reading a lot of reviews that it puts unwanted stress on wheel bearings and could cause them to fail prematurely.

A lot of people don’t like spacers. To them, it’s an added risk with no benefit. I liked mine because I added the bushwacker flairs and they made the tires look recessed. 20 or 25mm spacers corrected the look.

Having flairs on mine prompted me to do the same spacer kit. It’s 25mm with smaller tires and low weight compared to larger diameter tires or moving to a LT ply tire increasing rotational mass. I would not believe the wheel bearing would have extreme load bias unless severe duty off roading or high mileage but can see where the average hobbyist would have a concern for reliability. Anyone heard of wheel bearing failures due to wheel spacers from personal experience?

I do have a 1.5" lift with a size bigger nitto tires. I want to add fender flares, but like you, I want the tires to be flush with them. But not at the sacrifice of screwing something up. But, I can't imagine moving wheel out only an inch could put that much more stress on anything.

I have a 1.5” lift and went with LT245/75/17 tires and ended up removing the 25mm spacer as the was excessive rubbing on the carpet fender liner at the fender pinch welds. That would be resolved after trimming down the pinch welds on both front fender wells. I have not trimmed down the pinch weld yet as removing the spacers gave more clearance at full turning lock. Depending on your tire size, may not be an issue.

Well, all I can say is that you’d be surprised. I’d suggest three things:
1) read old threads. they address many of your worries
2) listen to people smarter that us. And specifically, if @Mark S. or @Meanderthal say something, listen
3) I know many threads and posts, including mine, say 25 mm is best/colest, in your special case and the knowledge on the subject, I’d go safe at 20mm (and I’d still suggest titan as I’ve had them on 5+ vehicles including 3 Bronco Sports). Also, I’ve had 20mm and flairs on a Sport; you'll still look great

If you disagree in the end, let me know. I promise to reimburse you for all your costs (but really I won’t!).

Just not a fan of spacers. If I had any reason to extend my wheels/tires out, I'd look into rims to do that.

Just me and my humble opinion. I saw too many sheared lugs on spacers to risk any chance to obtain coolness.

This is probably the primary reason to pay a little more for a spacer from a "trusted brand". The spacer itself is not likely to break, but the studs could be the cheapest thing they could find.

Here's the most comprehensive explanation I've seen of the downside of wheel spacers. A one-inch change in suspension geometry is, as you say, not that much, but ANY change will result in some compromises.

Here's a great explanation of "offset."
