Here are a few interesting articles for reference:

Ford Bronco Sport Windshield Replacement Cost Demystified
note: this article sometimes mixes Ford Bronco (full-size) and Bronco Sport info but generally is applicable to the Sport model
note: this article describes potential impact to insurance premiums for replacement windshields covered by insurance

Does Car Insurance Cover a Cracked Windshield?
note: also is a marketing article for the benefits of ExoShield: ā€œis designed to make your windshield 6X less likely to break in the event that a rock hits your glass while drivingā€

A Comprehensive Guide to 2024 Bronco Sport Windshield Replacement
note: this article is mostly generic info and not geared specifically to the Bronco Sport except in the article title only
https://radbroncoparts.com/blogs/news/a-comprehensive-guide-to-2024-bronco-sport-windshield-replacement

Some links above are from RAD Bronco Parts and while they appear to offer parts and articles for the Bronco Sport, they appear to mostly apply to the Bronco full-size (6th Gen Bronco) models. Most articles for Bronco Sport are generic topics and there appear to be many cut-n-paste updates from Bronco to Bronco Sport and references to parts while stating are for Bronco Sport are almost entirely for the Bronco full-size (6th Gen Bronco) models:

My ā€˜22 Bronco Sport Badlands (with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+) windshield was replaced today with a Ford OEM Windshield.

The factory windshield displayed the M1PB-S03100-AG number on the windshield at the drivers side location.
The Ford OEM Windshield replacement displays the M1PB-S03100-AH number.

Googling ā€œM1PB-S03100ā€ brings up the M1PZ-7803100-C part number stating: Fits Bronco Sport 2021 - 2023 (see pic in Post #1).

A few recommendations for those getting their windshield replaced:
1. If possible, stay with the tech during the installation. My ā€˜22 Badlands factory windshield came with a power cable for the heated windshield zone. This feature essentially is a heated area on the windshield where the wiper blades rest. Not all Bronco Sports have this feature but mine does (most models bound for Canada have this feature although it may have been discontinued possibly in 2024). See pic in Post #1 middle left side for the location of the power cable. Your vehicle could have come with this power cable but whether or not the heated windshield zone actually works (even if the cable is installed) is vehicle specific.

The Ford OEM Windshield replacement did not come with the cable however the replacement windshield has the copper pads so I made sure the tech re-installed the factory power cable for the heated windshield zone onto the windshield and plugged it back in.

If your Bronco Sport also has the heated windshield zone it’s a good idea to make sure the tech re-installs this cable if applicable.

2. The tech will need to perform a recalibration of the vehicles advanced driver assistance system (may or may not be applicable to your vehicle). For Bronco Sports (if applicable), this is a Dynamic calibration which involves driving the vehicle with specific movements to allow the car's computer to recalibrate the ADAS sensors based on the new windshield position. The tech drove the vehicle for 10 minutes to successfully perform the recalibration.

3. Consider replacing the windshield wiper blades if needed. You could void the windshield warranty if the old wiper blades scratch the replacement windshield.

4. You may be offered an after-market windshield which may be better, worse or same as a Ford OEM Windshield. This is something to discuss with the company selected to replace your windshield and may be something your insurance company has a say in if your insurance is covering some or all of the replacement cost. Btw, windshield replacements can impact your insurance premium as discussed in Post #1.

In my case, insurance paid for the replacement cost ($0 deductible).

The receipt lists the following for the windshield:
List price: 584.07
Selling price: 44.43
Flat labor: 120.00
Kit: 2.40 (not sure what this is)

The receipt lists these for the recal dynamic:
List price: 300.00
Selling price: 0.00
Flat labor: 257.00
Kit: 2.40 (not sure what this is)

Total with tax is listed at: $427.60 (my out of pocket is $0)

Urethane Brand: DuPont
Urethane Product: 4 DuPont APEX
Urethane Lot Number: D243NC4UEA

Had my windshield replaced last month. Insurance covered everything and it was painless. Never seen a windshield crack so quickly and easily. Almost like the windshield is under stress from pressure.

Did you go with another Ford OEM windshield or an aftermarket?

Replaced my windshield, 2021 BL. Had the cables on the old windshield but they were not hooked up.

New windshield ordered by Vin # and did not come with the cables. As Dude says Vin specific and if built during the pandemic any combo is possible.

I had to replace my windshield a couple of weeks ago out of pocket 723.00 They did use a Ford windshield. They crack so easy. I took it to Ford for recall and they did the ball point pen test and found a small divot about a half inch in from the driver's side edge. It doesn't take much to crack the windshields, Made in Mexico.

Decoder ring for Windshiekd glass.

https://www.ableautoglass.com/SSM-Bug.htm

https://www.maxautoglass.com/resources/windshield-markings-explained/

https://info.glass.com/decoding-car-windshield-bug/

https://www.outbound.eu/certification-of-glass-in-vehicles/

ā€œThe automotive glass industry refers to the stamp as a ā€œbugā€ or ā€œmonogramā€ which can usually be found on the bottom corner of your windshield. The bug provides pertinent information about the windshield.ā€

Mine includes ā€œAS1ā€ā€¦ US. federal regulations require that glass pass certain safety tests. AS1 glass passes them all, AS2 does not pass all the impact tests, and AS3 is typically of a darker tint and is referred to as privacy glass. Since AS1 is the only glass to pass all safety tests, it is the only glass allowed for windshield use.

The above links do not fully explain all the info shown on my windshield (drivers side, lower corner).

The ā€œDOTā€ number on a windshield glass is a code that indicates the manufacturer of the glass. ā€œDOTā€ stands for the Department of Transportation, and the number that follows is a unique identifier assigned to the company that made the glass.

My windshield is marked DOT615. Using ā€œhttps://www.glassbytes.com/wp-content/themes/glassbytes/results.phpā€, this indicates:
MFR: SEKURIT SAINT-GOBAIN CUAUTLA S/N

SAINT-GOBAIN SEKURIT is shown on my windshield (drivers side, lower corner), this is the glass manufacturer with facilities across the world including in Mexico.

My windshield is marked AS1. Check the DOT code on the windshield. Mine is marked DOT615 which is made in Mexico but it’s possible not all windshields for all Bronco Sports come from the windshield manufacturer in Mexico.

See Post #11 for details.

Well my windshield says Made in Mexico, drivers side, lower corner. I don’t think the windshield is any less quality. Does your windshield have ā€œMade in ..ā€ info?
Yup, mine says that too. I couldn't find anything about a Carlex facility in Mexico on its site, so I assumed the glass came from Nashville, proving once again that assumptions are risky. ?

I haven’t checked the side glass yet but I don’t think my rear glass was made in Mexico so is possible some Bronco Sport glass comes from the Carlex facility in TN

I heard that to replace the windshield, that "forehead" piece above it has to come off. Or maybe it was the other way around. In any case, I wouldn't hire just anyone to replace a modern windshield. And you need to really look over their work and test all the functions afterwards especially since insurance won't pay for OEM parts, but will raise your rate for catching a thrown rock. You should have a limited window (no pun) to make them do it over. If the company has a taillight guarantee, then hire someone else.

A non OEM part probably won't say "Accessory Ready" or "Sound Screen" on it but probably will perform similar as a windshield. I don't put a lot of faith in those "but it might have distortion" scare tactics that dealers push. If it did, then thousands of replacements nationwide would be malfunctioning.
